An incredible little place. I only just discovered after my husband had passed this past September. He would have just loved 💕 it too. We had lived here in Petrey, Alabama, 10 miles from Luverne, our closest "big town," for several years, and were so surprised how the only way we could get "home-cooked meals" was to stay home and do it ourselves. Due to my food allergies, it took all the fun out eating out. So, when when I was referred to Taters for breakfast one dreary morning, I was pleasantly surprised. There was this tiny hole in the wall. Blink, and you will miss it, almost across the street from Pepsi, is Taters. I had one egg over medium, *grits, home fries, *two slices of toast. The egg was spot on and great. I wished I would have had two. *The grits were beautiful, not soggy, overcooked or undercooked, and seasoned just the right amount of butter and salt. (as some people know, not everyone has learned how to make great grits.) I will during that day mention that my home fries were quite salty that day. I made mention of it. The owner would later take care of it as soon as she was made aware of it. I asked for apple jelly instead of strawberry for my toast with no difficulty whatsoever. This breakfast is what I had on my first visit. There have now maybe ten more different meals since. It appears to be run by a family with excellent mother recipes, a grandmother's love of her God, a mother, children, a family wanting to help people with their home cooking their way. Their way is with Peace & Love & God in their hearts one day at a time. Many filling meals later enough for leftovers to take home for dinner or lunch. Taters is only open from breakfast until after lunch. I have referred at least ten people here. Two I know cannot wait until they come back through her to return to Taters again. Oh, by the way, they do not preach to you. They are just a friendly everyday place where eventually they will know your name and what you will order too... Maybe not...

Tater's Restaurant in Luverne is definitely worth the visit. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. I had a Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap that was absolutely delicious, and the wrap didn't fall apart despite being loaded up with delicious ingredients! The French Fries were also perfect. My wife had the Pulled Pork and was raving about it all day - definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Overall, Tater's is an amazing restaurant and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for some...

Delicious food, enormous portions, friendly service and an amazing value. I had the pulled pork special with Mac n cheese and Cole slaw. The pork was excellent, the slaw was also great. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken wrap and fries. The place was not too crowded for a Friday lunch. I highly recommend...
