Terrible customer service! My wife literally just picked up our birthday cake (29 June 2024) for our son’s 2 years birthday. We ordered the cake almost 2 weeks ago. It was construction vehicle themed with color, but it was anything but! They said they ordered colors for the cake but they didn’t arrive in time. They had 2 weeks to get it done. They didn’t even communicate with us to at least let us know they may not be able to use color. A $60 dollar cake and they only took $5 off! Ridiculous! Never will we use them again. I will post pictures tomorrow with a review of the taste. Hopefully this place can redeem themselves. 30 June 2024: So, we had my son’s birthday party today in Chelsea, MI. It was a great party with lots of friends and family. Sadly, the birthday cake that we purchased at this establishment was a fail. Bland and dry. As mentioned in my post yesterday, the cake was supposed to be colored but the bakery failed to order the coloring in time and also failed to notify us they didn’t have the coloring. I’m not a baker and would never be a contestant on the great British baking show but I could have done a better job with a box of Betty Crocker. Tasteless, and dry. I don’t know how they have a 4.8 review average. Must be paid reviewers. Anyway, here are some photos. Never again.

We just recently discovered Lakehouse Bakery and decided to take the Christmas in Germany baking class. It was the best cooking class we’ve ever taken and we have tried multiple places! Keegan was super friendly and an awesome teacher. We will FOR SURE be back to take other classes! We made a dessert bread and 2 kinds of cookies and we had plenty to take home and share. We of course had to purchase some other goodies(breads, pasties, etc.) as we were leaving and they did not disappoint. We also found out that once a month they make pizza so we are looking forward to January now! All in all, highly recommend all of the goodies and the class!!

Stopped by on a bike ride. The pecan rolls are the perfect size (not too big but not too small either). Kim was a delight. After cutting off a pecan roll, she scooped some of the extra/loose pecans on top. She showed me where I could refill water bottles and came out from around the counter to hold the door for me since my hands were full. There’s a quaint picnic table on the side. I’ll be back for sure.

My review is probably way overdue. But you should know about it. The LakeHouse Bakery has been a part of our small community in Chelsea, MI for many years. Every day they crank out the best baked goods overlooking the beautiful Sugar Loaf Lake. I’ve enjoyed many of their goods including fresh bread, English Muffins, cookies, Pizza, specialty items and more. But what I mostly want you to know about is their commitment to our community. There is rarely an event in Chelsea that LHB does not contribute to, including an effort to Feed the Frontline during Covid for our healthcare workers, hot chocolate at our Holiday events, cookies or sandwiches for multiple events and so much more. If there is a community event, there’s a good chance LHB is there. In between all of that, they just do their thing and provide amazing baked goods, including Pizza Weekends all year round. So if you’re inclined to visit Chelsea and maybe take a walk around Sugar Loaf Lake or bike ride down Waterloo Rd., stop by LakeHouse Bakery and indulge yourself!...

A hidden gem that's worth the drive! We have known about this place for a long time but never made the trek and now we are kicking ourselves for waiting so long. We bought a little of everything, and it was all fantastic! The almond croissant, the almond bar, and sourdough bread were highlights. We bought a couple of frozen chicken pot pies to have for dinner later. We were lucky that while we were there they were roasting garlic in the ovens for (I think) their garlic cheddar bread, and it smelled delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful, and we can't wait to be back! Do yourself a favor and make a trip to get something fresh, but their products are also available at Arbor Farms Market, and other locations around...
