If you are looking for a do-it-yourself venue, but want to pay a full-service price, look no further. If you want a stress free wedding, look somewhere else. Working with this venue was nothing short of a nightmare, from the start. My now husband and I were planning a multi-day wedding, with the plans of 2 of the events being held at Olde Homestead. The first employee we worked with, Leah, agreed that 300+ guests could fit in their Carriage House, and stated this on the contract that we all signed. Leah was no longer with the venue a few weeks later, and we were informed that in fact the contract was not accurate and that they could NOT accommodate 300+ people. This sent us back to the drawing board after losing precious time to find a new venue for our second night after we insisted that our contract was voided.

Fast forward to the Spring, where we met with Jill, our event coordinator, to do preliminary planning in April for our October wedding. Only then during this meeting did she begin to shed light on all of the things that the venue would NOT do for us on the day of the wedding, all of which Leah made seem like were included. We were also forced to sign a contract during this meeting that we could not bring in any outside planners or day of coordinators, despite the fact that they would not help with anything besides catering day of the wedding.

Come July, we were informed that Jill quit her position and that we would be assigned a new event coordinator, Jessica. I requested that the manager, Justin, set up a meeting for us with Jessica to discuss our wedding and to get to know her. We arrived early on a Sunday morning to meet Jessica, only to be greeted by Justin who informed us that Jessica would not be meeting with us, rather he would be meeting with us instead, who would not be at the wedding.

We only first met Jessica 3 weeks before our wedding where we reviewed our final plans. It was clear that she was being overworked and did not have the support she needed to properly execute her role. During this meeting we were informed that: They would only assist with decor that needed to be hung (after a long back and forth about the hanging of our neon sign with Justin). We were told “The family and bridal party have to do the set up of all decor” They would not assist in the clean up of the event decor They would not refrigerate our cakes the night prior because “someone may throw it out” When asked if we could pick up our cake the next morning after the wedding, the response was “you can carry that on the bus” They required us to keep a car on site at the venue for over 48 hours in order to ensure we didn’t inconvenience them by leaving our decor at the venue overnight to be picked up in the morning. ALL decor had to then be loaded into our car immediately after the wedding and parked in the parking lot overnight to be picked up in the morning When I asked if the groomsmen could have a few drinks while waiting during our first look the response was “You can open a tab”, when I replied that my husband would not have his wallet on the day of his wedding, I was told “You have apple pay, right? We accept that as well”

The day following our meeting I insisted on speaking with the manager, Justin, to which I expressed all of the above concerns to. His only response was “I understand how you can feel that way, we’ll keep that in mind for the future”. Offering absolutely NO solutions, and it was very obvious that he didn’t care about any of my concerns.

Luckily, we have an amazing support system of friends and family who rallied around us and ensured that everything was set up beautifully. Our family and friends also all assisted in deconstructing the event and packing everything back into our car immediately after the reception. It’s unfortunate because the venue is absolutely beautiful, but until the management gets an overhaul, they will continue to run this place into the ground. Take the lesson learned from my experience, stay far away from this venue if you want a hassle free...

I would give the Olde Homestead 11/10 stars if I could! Not only is the venue naturally absolutely stunning, but the staff goes out of their way to make sure everything on your big day goes according to plan and they really know how to make the bride and groom and their guests feel special.

Wedding planning can be extremely stressful but Jill, Leah, and the Olde Homestead team took all the stress out of the process so that we were able to enjoy every single step along the way. From making sure the menu was exactly what we wanted, to designing florals that were more perfect than we ever could have imagined, we always felt like they genuinely cared about us and wanted to make sure our day was perfect.

The food was incredible, hands down the best we’ve ever had at a wedding! Being the bride and groom you might think we are just biased, but we heard from every single guest how amazing the food was and how no other wedding venue can compare. Not only did the food taste great, but the dinner service was exceptionally well done. We did a buffet for 120 guests and no one could believe how quickly all guests had their food. Food was served faster than any sit down dinner or buffet event we have ever been to.

Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate for our outdoor ceremony, but Jill and they rest of the team did not let that put a damper on our day. She drove us around outside in the rain, wind, and cold to make sure we got property photos because she knew how much it meant to us to have them. She was willing to stand outside in the pouring rain for our ceremony if that was what we wanted. When we made the last minute decision to move things inside, she turned the room around in a matter of minutes and set up a gorgeous ceremony space. None of our guests ever knew there was a last minute change and everyone was amazed at how gorgeous, cozy, and intimate the ceremony was.

During our photos we told Jill how excited we were for one specific dish during cocktail hour. When cocktail hour came around jill found us and brought us a personal plate of all of the appetizers and an entire tray of the beef tenderloin bruschetta that we had mentioned being excited for. We could clearly tell Jill was listening to everything we said and personally made sure to do her best to give us whatever we wanted to make sure we enjoyed our entire day.

I can’t say enough great things about the Olde Homestead venue and staff, and would highly recommend them to any bride and groom looking for amazing food, a beautiful location, and expert staff for an extremely fair price. If we had to plan our wedding all over again, we honestly would not change a...

Olde Homestead is a beautiful, rustic venue that was a perfect fit for our families that came from farming backgrounds while also having a modern flair with beautiful lighting, lounge space, patio and bridal room. The food is also outstanding – from the appetizers to the main meal, everything was hot and delicious. Our friends and family raved about how beautiful the venue was and also how it was arguably the best wedding food they’d ever eaten. Leading up to the wedding, we appreciated the prompt responses and impressive organization from our event planner, but sometimes felt that she was underwhelmed or slightly judgmental by the decisions we were making which was frustrating, but we acknowledged that everyone has different tastes so we didn’t say anything. On the day of our wedding, we felt that our event planner was slightly underdressed wearing a jean jacket to our wedding and we also didn’t appreciate her lack of flexibility throughout our event. We acknowledge that a timeline is important for the ceremony to start on time and to make sure that people are served food at an appropriate hour, but we also knew there was built in cushion time so we didn’t appreciate that we felt rushed at different periods and that she overrode one of the decisions we made during our event (whether we should go take photos with each dinner table or to have BM/MOH speeches first – so really nothing that would impact the staff so should have been our decision). Unfortunately, we also felt that some of our vendors were intimidated by her abrasive nature and not comfortable asking her questions since they were coming to us with questions that we know they’d normally go to an event manager with since we’ve interacted with them at events previously. Disappointingly at the end of the night, as things were getting cleaned up, I noticed that they were handling the centerpieces over in the corner of the barn, when I went to investigate, I found out that they had thrown out all of the flowers from my centerpieces – I was too tired at that point to say anything, but my mom had all intentions of taking them home, so it was quite disappointing to see such beautiful flowers going straight in the trash without someone even asking what we wanted...
