They don’t even deserve the 1 star I’m required to give. I was on my way home after a long day at work and wanted to stop by and grab a Blizzard to take home to eat after dinner. I got in line at 9:45 and they were 4 cars ahead of me that I could see and maybe 2 more around the building (one at the window and one behind them). As time got closer to closing they slowed down helping customers because 2 cars in front of me sat at the menu for 10 minutes with no response so they just left. The next 2 cars got their order taken and I pulled up to the menu and nothing. By this time it was 10:11. I know they have cameras that over look the drive through and could very well see the line. They chose to serve who they wanted and who cares about anyone else. The DQ on my exit closes at 9pm so I can’t make it to that one because that’s when I get off work. I was in line in plenty enough time to be served along with other customers. Tonight DQ said loud and clear “we do not want your money!” and I heard very well. I will not visit this DQ anymore even if it’s the last one on earth. I’ll just try to make my own blizzard. During this trying time of COVID-19 and quarantines and masks and social distancing we all just want a little smile at the end of our days. Today I was robbed of that by the DQ on Hartley Bridge Rd. I work in EMS for a living. 12 hour shifts of taking care of patients and getting them where they need to go isn’t the same as flipping a hamburger or dropping fries. It’s not the same as turning a blizzard upside down for some reason to show you it won’t fall out of the cup. If you are going to serve customers then you need to serve all the customers until they are gone. You may be a restaurant but DQ is supposed to stand out from the rest and provide a service and not just be another fast food joint.
Thanks for ruining what little bit of...
Read moreSo I ordered a cookie dough blizzard cake from here. I asked for their to be writing in pink and green but if not possible then a regular blizzard cake would be fine... When I first seen the cake my mouth dropped... But looking at the two employees face when they brought it to me spoke volumes. It looked like a three year old wrote on the cake. Then they tried to make lines as decorations but that made it worse. One of the employees told me that the person who wrote on the cake always writes like this and they have had complaints before on cakes that she's written on... The person was a manager (who wrote on it). I didn't even have to ask and one of the employees brought it back to be fixed. I told them they could just put white ice cream over the top and the cookie pieces bc it's probably unfixable and that I worked in a bakery for four years and I wouldve made a new cake before I served this. The second time the writing was just thick and ugly.... The "32" was written with the type of piping bag all the writing was made with... Then she put sprinkles around the cake obviously to hide the look of other parts of it... So here I'm going to my sister's 32nd birthday with a cake that looks like a blind person decorated... Mind you the second cake looked waaaaaaay better than the first cake. Im so dissatisfied with dairy Queen at this point. Why jeopardize your business with people who don't know what they're doing? It's pitiful a manager would do something like this.. the lettering of the cake isn't even consistent. At the top you can see a mix of green and pink in two of letters smh. They didn't charge me ... That's how you know the cake was terrible but they need to get their shxt together asap!!! I have uploaded a picture of the cookie dough blizzard cake.......
Read moreEDIT TO ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW. This Dairy Queen at Hartley Bridge is bad at making Blizzards. How do you order an Oreo Cookie Jar with TWO extra toppings of cookie dough and Oreo, and get a Blizzard with less toppings than a regular one? The Blizzard in the picture was like this throughout - mostly vanilla base.
Who knows? You might be able to get a decent milk chocolate smoothie if you order a Choco Brownie Xtreme. They did better at making the burger(s). Maybe if you take the Blizzard back they'd fix it; but I haven't tried that.
-- EDIT -- I have went back since when I saw a response from my review. For a while they had been bad at Blizzards, but now they make them far better, much better. So now they make tasty burgers and great Blizzards. I had decided to go back three times to see how they did. And even once when I ordered an Oreo Cookie Jar with extra toppings, it actually had a really decent amount of pieces in it. They seemed to have really improved a lot.
In fact, they did such a great job at the Cookie Dough Blizzard with extra toppings (they really had extra real good!) that I removed the picture of the failed Oreo Cookie Jar. At this point they deserve good recognition. Thank you...
