Horrible!! I hate to give such a low rating but I’d be lying if I said it was good. On Sunday September 7, 2025 we had a party of 15 people. We were celebrating my son’s birthday and decided to have dinner at Red Lobster in Macon Ga. I am a fan of Red Lobster but this visit was way below my expectations for them.
We arrived around 2:50 in the afternoon. We were seated right away without a wait time. Our sever was Brian. Brian was polite and professional but he needed help. We all ordered from the menu. We received our food around 5 pm. We asked our waiter Brian what was taking the food so long to come out and he replied the restaurant was short of staff.
It wasn’t very busy at this time. We start seeing more people arrive after we ordered. When our food finally arrived that’s when we were met with the disappointment.
All of our food was over cooked and bland without seasoning. I ordered from the “Create your own” feast. I ordered Salmon, crab legs, Walt’s favorite shrimp, shrimp linguine, a side salad and a baked potato. This is my favorite go to meal every time I visit Red Lobster.
I had to send my salmon back because it was over cooked. It was dry to the texture. It was so dry it appeared to be fried but it wasn’t it was hard, dry, unseasoned and over cooked. The server got permission from the manager Annette to have it remade. I was still charged for it and the remake was the same as the 1st order. Overcooked and unseasoned.
The crabs were tasteless. The shrimp linguine was tasteless. Everyone complained that the food was not seasoned. We informed our sever of the bland taste of our food and he stated there were only 2 cooks for that day and one of them being inexperienced. For the price you pay at Red Lobster you expect your food to be flavorful. Why would Red Lobster hire an inexperienced cook to prepare such expensive food.
We don’t want to taste food from someone inexperienced as if we’re here to support you in training. No, we expect to have good flavorful food that we”ll be happy to pay for. I don’t think Red Lobster is a place to practice cooking. We come ready to eat satisfying tasting food.
My son had the Sailors seafood bag and hated it. It too, was overcooked and unseasoned. It was his birthday and we’d waited all day to eat at Red Lobster only to leave disappointed. He didn’t finish the food because he said he couldn’t and I asked why? His response was that it had no taste. My aunt ordered a steak and had to send it back because it was overcooked and hard, she could not chew it.
She sent it back and was told that unless she ordered rare or medium rare the steak would be tough. She ended up not reordering because she said she didn’t want a tough steak she’s over 70 years of age and wanted to enjoy her food.
The only thing we all enjoyed and agreed on was the biscuits and the hush puppies. I guess you can’t go wrong with baking biscuits. I have never had a bad experience at Red Lobster this was the first time we’d gone and not enjoyed it.
My thoughts were how can you not enjoy Red Lobster. For the money paid we expected better. My meal and my son’s meal was a total of $101. Everyone ordered either crab legs, lobster and shrimp. I’m not complaining about the price we know what to expect to pay when we visit it’s the point of paying a heafty price for food we could not and did not enjoy. I feel bad for my son and our guests because this was a time to celebrate and enjoy but it ended up not...
Read moreHi, We went to the one in Macon on Riverside drive last night at 7pm. We had a party of 8. We got on the waiting list. I went to the bar to get a coke when we got there. There was a large table that could seat 8-10 people in front of the bar and another booth that would seat 4. Our party patiently waited, waited and waited. Still nothing, still waiting. I kept watching that large table for 1 hour and 15 minutes. After 45 minutes of waiting I even told the hostess that there was one in there that just needed to be wiped off. Waited, waited. Still no one was seated at that table. Finally a manager floated by and I got his attention. I walked him to the bar and showed him that large table that had been sitting there now almost 2 hours empty. He immediately cleaned it and sat us there. Now onto the waitress. She took our drink order and we also gave her our appetizer order so we could them in. She brings our drinks and gets our food order. Approximately 30 minutes passed and she brought us one of the appetizers to 8 people. She floated by again about 7-8 minutes later, we asked her for silverware and drink refills. After about 15 minutes, we ate the appetizers (artichoke dip and the sample appetizer) with our fingers-no napkins-no little plates. We had no little plates so everyone could get a taste, we had no biscuits and no silverware and empty drinks..... Well low and behold she finally brings our salads and refills our drinks. We ask for silverware again and waited patiently..... 15 minutes later still none, I asked the hostess and the lady at the bar for silverware..... We ate our salads almost completely with our fingers before our waitress came back with them....We ordered 4 of the feasts @32.00 each, one admiral feasts, coconut shrimp plate and two kids dinners. We had substituted on two of the plates the shrimp scampi for fried shrimp and one for coconut shrimp.... It was all screwed up, two peoples shrimp on the wrong plate with different vegetables, etc, no coconut shrimp and no substitution on the scampi..... We finally got our biscuits half way into the entre portion of the meal.... Needless to say, one check was 109 and the other was 155.00. Worst money spent....worst service I have ever gotten. The waitress still got a huge tip, even tho not deserved... We planned a wonderful evening out with the whole family..... Saved up money to be able to enjoy a "fine dining experience and good seafood" and it was a total waste of money and time. One of us had stomach cramps before we left and had to stop 3 times on the way home to use the bathroom..... Another one of us was up all night with stomach cramps and in the bathroom all night..... (no we do not have a stomach virus or anything else.... we are all perfectly healthy).... We will not go back!!!...
Read moreI normally don't write reviews or complain at Restaurants because I've been a waitress for 15 years and I understand ,but the lack of concern and care I recieved tonight was mind blowing I arrived at the restaurant and was seated at 7:35 pm me and my fiance our waiter greeted us and recieved our bar drink orders he returned with water but our bar drinks took 15-20 minutes to arrive The restaurant was slow and my waiter had two tables one of which was leaving . I still remained patiently we ordered our food and I ordered clam chowder and a salad along with the crab leg dinner two pounds My guy ordered a pick three fried shrimp popcorn shrimp and salmon which was burned I recieved my salad and was ready to eat to realize we did not have silverware. Our waiter returned with it I then asked if he forgot my chowder I have had my salad ten minutes now and in wanted it before my meal it eventually came maybe 10 minutes later I still was patient and understanding. We waited I know 20 more minutes for our waiter to return with food but not all of the food he brought my fiances food and a side of scallops I ordered that were cold smh the waiter goes to explain my steamed crablegs were coming despite the fact we had waited over 30 minutes for two entrees Im aggravated at this point but still waited for 12-15 minutes for my entree its gets to me delivered by my waiter not a manager this has been a 45 minute check when the food gets to me the presentation was horrible and the crablegs looked plastic no seasoning what so ever and luke warm at this point I explain to my waiter this is not his fault but i needed a manager he let to get her I waited 20 minutes for Miranda she never came so I asked for my check with my entree spilt off still waiting for Miranda she neglected our table and the concerns we had oblivious to us been paying customers and good tipping customers I was baffled that no manager interaction was present despite the multiple issues I paid the check and still tipped the waiter and explained to him that I felt bias coming from them I felt as if they thought we wanted something free in reality all we wanted was to enjoy date night and crablegs we arrived at 7:36 and left at 9:15 Miranda the manager never addressed my concern or ackowledged us at all period the waitress apologized and stated she was making him look bad I told him the entire company looks bad what kind of manager directly ignores the need of a customer I work in food service and I would have handled this better I waisted 70.00 and left feeling discriminated against I will be contacting corpoarte...
