⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Ollie’s Juke Joint & Café – Cajun Done Right in Kingston, OK!”

Well now… we were in the mood for some good Cajun cookin’, and Ollie’s popped up on Google like it knew exactly what our stomachs were sayin’. So off we went!

When we pulled up, the place was hoppin’ — live music on the patio, folks packed in tighter than a crawfish boil on Easter Sunday. Not a single empty chair out there. We got sat up front by the bar, and our waitress gave it to us straight: food might take 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Long wait? Sure. But the vibe was good, drinks were flowin’, and we weren’t in a hurry.

We started with the elote corn bites, and let me tell ya — those little fried nuggets were dang tasty. A splash of Cholula and they’d be perfect. Went up to the bar for round two of beers and Ollie himself served ‘em up… on the house. That right there earns points in my book.

Next thing we know, the waitress brings out complimentary salads — crisp, fresh, and a nice surprise. And before we could finish jawin’ about the band, our food landed hot and fresh.

I ordered Ollie’s Combo Plate — jambalaya, gumbo, red beans & rice, and stuffed crabs. Y’all… it was fantastic. The gumbo had that rich, dark roux like Grandma’s; the jambalaya was hearty and seasoned just right; red beans were smoky and soulful. And those stuffed crabs? Golden, crunchy outside and full of flavor inside. A slab of sweet cornbread on the side just sealed the deal.

The missus ordered the chicken wrap, which turned out to be a grilled chicken quesadilla. No complaints here — cheesy, hot, and loaded up, with fries that were perfectly crisp and seasoned.

Even with the crowd, the service was friendly and on top of things. Live entertainment, cold beer, hot Cajun food, and a place buzzing with good energy — what more can you ask for?

👉 If you’re anywhere near Kingston and craving Cajun, Ollie’s is worth the stop. Just come hungry, bring some patience, and prepare to leave...

We were very disappointed this time, usually a great experience but not Fri and Saturday, we came in to eat on Friday and we're seated promptly and got our drinks and ordered. Then it was like we were forgotten, our appetizer arrived warm and chewy, it was crab bombs which are usually hot fresh and crisp, not this time. The waitress forgot our salads which came with the meal, she was hard to flag down, still no salads and never got them... and couldn't get refill on our sweet teas. Pasta was good though I'll give them that. We had reservations for Saturday to relax and enjoy some music and good food, we arrived and were told by the same waitress who took our reservation that she forgot about us and gave our table to someone else, but had 1 table we could have, we went in and the table she said to sit at was super small and directly in front of the band. Waaay too loud, and I guess she forgot us again and after about 15 to 20 mins of waiting couldn't even get a menu or a drink order in. Granted, it was a busy night, but a menu while we were waiting for service would have been nice! Hope it was just a bad weekend, a fluke, but will think really hard about coming back next time...

Our preacher, his wife, church friends and niece recommended this place so for my birthday we thought we’d give it a try. Outside is a little different but only prepares you for the odd combination of decor inside. We sat on the patio which was very comfortable during the fall. Music was great especially if you like 50-60s and that’s before the food. For an appetizer we had fried pork skins and queso. Skins are hot and large and queso is super creamy and tasty. We shared and still didn’t finish. I had the taste of Ollie, I think that’s what it was. It had small servings of red beans/rice, jambalaya, gumbo and two fried stuffed crabs. All was great. Husband had red beans and rice but didn’t get as much meat as he would have liked but the flavor was great. For drinks I had two porch crawlers and they were strong. Don’t be a lightweight and order this - you might be literally crawling home. Husband had the old fashioned and said it was just as good. The menu is huge so can’t wait to go back and try...

FYI: Website shows they open at 4pm, but its really 5pm. We drove down here from Oklahoma City on a Sunday Afternoon. We started out with the Alfredo Fries, layered with homeade alfredo sauce, cheese & bacon garnish with green onions. I had the Jambalaya (which they only serve on Sunday) & my wife had the Catfish Sussie Mae. 2 Catfish fillets layered with catfish served on a bed of rice & coleslaw. For desert we had Granny Kathy's deep fried brownie bites with ice cream topped with salted carmel sauce and pecans & a piece of bacon. Everything was very delicious. Service was Great. We can not wait to go back again & try more selections.
