Management take note! This was a very disappointing and unsafe experience that is completely unacceptable.
Let me start by saying my family loves Waffle House and we make it a point to eat there all across the country. We love the environment and ability to get to know the servers and cooks.
We visited this particular location last night with a large group of 20+ people. We were respectful, seated, ordering and eating food, and enjoying each other’s company. We were talking and laughing with each other at our respective tables.
Unexpectedly, a woman who was sitting at a booth in the corner approached our table and rudely and forcefully stated we were too loud and could no longer be laughing with each other. She then proceeded to pace back and forth revealing the gun on her hip.
Prior to this, she never once asked us to keep the noise down, nor did any other patrons or servers.
Again, we were all seated, eating and talking. Enjoying what we thought was a great end to a night together. We are a respectful group who would have been happy to be accommodating had it ever been addressed in a professional and respectful manner.
Another group of patrons arrived who was not part of our group. They had young children with them, and the security guard continued to pace around displaying her gun! This group was also “loud” by security’s standards - they too were enjoying their night. We asked the security person if she was going to address them in the same manner she addressed us. She did not respond. She proceeded to call the police to have us escorted out.
This is not the way any paying customer deserves to be treated. I can understand if we were causing damage, using profanity, or being rude to others. That was not the case. I feel violated and unfairly targeted and harassed for doing nothing wrong, and was not given the opportunity to be alerted to her issue with us to resolve it in a calm manner.
Her actions escalated to an unsafe environment and could have been easily avoided with a simple conversation.
Unfortunately, she has cost this establishment a lot of repeat business and has tarnished the brand. I am disappointed that she’s allowed to behave this way and be in this position. She is...
Read moreI love Waffel house. I ordered 2 sandwiches, to go. I was quite surprised that they added on a 10% surcharge for it being a To Go order. They also added a 15% gratuity to be split between the server who took the order and the cook. That is a total of 25% added to your total. I was a server for over 30 years and except for large parties a tip was never automatically added. It is called a gratuity because the customer is showing their great fullness and tips according to how well their service was. When automatically adding a tip a server has no incentive to be exceptional. It's the old " everyone on the team gets a trophy." If that is the case, prices should include the tip and servers should have a higher wage. And....does the tip get added to the total that includes the 10%. Next time I will bring my own to go dish and when they bring my food, I can put it in my own container. I can also then tip according to what I feel was deserved. I normally tip 20% or more for...
Read more10:30 @ As I walked up the waitress was sitting down and they shut down half the restaurant leaving 4 seats, the rest of the seats all have yellow tape blocking them.. All 4 are full they refuse to open any of the closed seats. . I guess the waitress can't get her sit down time if they open more than 4 tables. The kicker is they will 100% use cronavirus as reason not to do their jobs while demanding $15/hr, meanwhile all 4 tables that were open were in the same corner by the restrooms so no social distancing. This is how they treat truck drivers who work long hours and can't go anywhere else... Maybe we should stop delivering their food, stop delivering gas and every thing else these people expect when they need something...
