Just had dinner here. Good was still good, service staff sweet really good, friendly, efficient!! All in all a really nice meal. Friday at 5 they were busy but the service was still pleasant and efficient.

Just had a great lunch here. Six plus a 3 year old we were there for a late lunch so they weren't very busy. Restaurant was clean and well set up. We were greeted promptly and seated. Drink order was taken and we were given plenty of time to peruse the menu.

The menu is fairly extensive but not overdone. We had club sandwiches, a Reuben, several wraps and a child's grilled cheese.

The child meal was brought out first, which was nice, quickly followed by other things. The waiter brought things out as they were ready but there really was no waiting between his kitchen trips.

Hot things were hot, cold were cold and everything was really good. My chicken salad was fresh made and tasty and not overloaded with mayo. My father's Reuben was a big open face sandwich which he really enjoyed.

Servings were nice sized, some finished and some didn't so we brought some leftovers home.

Waiter was very friendly and answered menu questions fully. His attitude and humor helped make lunch great.

We stopped in to Magnolia’s Restaurant looking for a good hearty homestyle meal, and we were more than satisfied. My wife ordered the crabcake and scallops with a side of fried zucchini and coleslaw and I ordered the Fried codfish and oysters with the sides of cucumbers & onions and potato salad. Our dinner started off with a generous house salad, which was crisp and fresh. The crabcake was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The scallops were sweet and flavorful. The codfish was flaky and delicious and the fried oysters made to perfection. The side dishes were of generous portions and definitely freshly made. As much as this dinner was completely satisfying and filling, we just needed to try something for dessert and chose the plain cheesecake. My son’s team won their soccer game today and Owen asked if he could celebrate at his favorite restaurant. We left the Delaware Turf and went straight to the Magnolia Restaurant. As soon as we walked in, he knew exactly where he wanted to sit. We were greeted and put in our drink order. After a little bit the waiter came over and started speaking to Owen about his game and his favorite players. They shared a high five and Owen said: I love coming here, it’s my favorite and that guy is super cool. That little 2-3 minute interaction made his entire day. Thank you so much. Owen rated the Mickey pancakes a “5 out of 5 stars and would highly recommend.” Watching everyone eat, talk, and smile at each other was something you don’t see much of anymore. The food was good, the price was more than fair, the staff were amazing, and the atmosphere was great. The Magnolia Restaurant is a great little gem that I hope stays around for a long time. Cheers...
