King's Pizza & Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Mahoning Township

The freshly made tortilla chips that our waitress/owner served us to start were the highlight. Unfortunately everything else food wise was pretty miserable. The salsa that came with the chips was runny and mild. It could’ve used a bit more heat or flavor. Kids’ Chicken tenders were ground meat (why? Ew) and fried with a weird bland sauce, husband’s chicken tacos were overcooked, and my taco salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, some peppers from a can, and topped with more chips. Pizza made with a weird sauce that friend didn’t care for. Somehow this place got 4.5 stars, maybe because there’s nothing else for miles.

The restaurant is cute enough, with lots of Halloween/dia de los muertos decor up, I wish they had invested in a cookbook or fresh ingredients.

I will start off by saying that I have only tried their pizza, so my review is solely based on that small piece of their menu. Pizzas looked great, but the taste overall was very basic and bland and the crust was so chewy I ended up with a sore jaw. I would also like to mention that I made pizza for 16 years so I am a bit more critical than the average person. The restaurant was clean and the employees were friendly-ish so I would certainly try other things from this establishment, but I wouldn't buy the pizza again without a recipe change or a cortisone...

Went here recently for pizza and wound up going with some delicious authentic Mexican food. All their Mexican food is made from scratch. Empanadas we’re large, crispy l, and flavorful. The tamales were as good as ones we get in Costa Rica and they had several different offerings (green sauce with chicken, pork, etc). Mexican style tacos with cilantro, beef, carnitas style, pork and chicken. Service was very friendly in a relaxed atmosphere.
