7/13/23, arrived 11am. Very disappointed, always great in the past. Everything was bad. In order: #1 - Popcorn was old, soft. #2 - Crabcakes were always available even though it's been off the menu for years. This time we were told 'no'. #3- Salad was smaller than before and consisted of only spinach and a few, very few, cucumber slices. Spinach was mixed with fresh and wilted. Croutons were tasteless. #4 - Dirty coffee cup and knife, old food stuck on them. #5 - No choice of vegetable, waitress didn't even mention it. I asked and we were getting green beans no matter what. #6 - Fried seafood combo was greasy. Cooked in oil that should've been replaced long ago. Clam strips, almost no clam just fried breading. Shrimp tough. Scallops were loaded with grease. Fish filet, again hardly any fish, mostly breading. Crab cake was dry. Yes got a small crabcake with combo, but couldn't get as an entree. #7 - Refill on coffee was old, bitter. #8 - Condiment bottles and advertising standees were dirty. #9 - Waitress had an arrogant snippy lousy attitude. Older woman with short gray hair. She's been there a long time, never had a problem in the past. I was tempted to leave no tip because of the overall bad experience and her bad attitude, but I left a customary tip. After all, she was working and maybe having a bad day? Or maybe she's just pissed at the place too. #10 - Some guy walking around with a t-shirt that said 'I piss in pools'. I don't think he was a customer but had something to do there. Yeah a funny shirt, but come on, in a restaurant? Donovan's has hit bottom. I won't return there. There's so many other places to get good food and good service. I would have given zero stars but that wasn't an option. Go somewhere else, don't waste your time, your money, and your appetite...

Billy, the owner/manager, certainly cares about his customers and he shows it. He walks around and checks on everyone, makes sure we’re all happy. It was really appreciated. Our waitress, Short Stuff, absolutely fabulous! Very attentive and treats customers like a friend. From the greeting from Billy to the wonderful service from Short Stuff, our date night turned out great. I had a delicious French Onion Soup and Burger Platter. We also had the Sampler Platter Appetizer. The buttered popcorn they bring over when you first sit down, very fresh. They keep on popping. We even brought home cupcakes. Thank you to Billy and Short Stuff for making a night pleasant. Old Review: We haven’t been there in a long time. We walked in and were greeted so nicely. We learned afterwards that the person so pleasant making sure all was good was the owner/manager Billy. That greeting set the tone for a good visit. Our waitress, Morgan, such a sweetheart. Pleasant and accommodating. You’re lucky if you have her as your waitress. I had the Chicken Murphy. It’s not like I usually have had it elsewhere. It was more like a stew or a chicken cacciatore with potatoes. It was good but not exactly how I’m used to it. We both had French Onion Soup. It was good. The place got pretty busy by 5:00. Read moreGreat place to eat. The food and service is fantastic. The servers are very knowledgeable of their products. This place has a great atmosphere. The Manager and staff are very friendly. They keep the place very clean. The men's room was clean and well stocked. The portion sizes are big enough for 2 people. I had the Chicken Parmesan with Linguine and it was tender, juicy and flavorful. The food is hot when it is brought to your table. They do a good job of spacing out the courses. I highly recommend this place. You definitely get your money's worth here! Ate there today for the 1st time in almost a year. Some prices have gone up, but not a lot The serving size and quality is still great! The Manager Billy is a people person. He is always walking around and talking with customers. You can almost always see him holding the door open for Older and handicapped customers! It is little things like that, make you want to come back and eat there again. They also have a lot of early bird specials everyday, except Sunday. They start at 1 PM. Ate there last Saturday. Saturdays between 3PM and 5PM they are very busy. If you want to eat there around this time it is a good idea to make reservations. Had the Fried Flounder. It was great The breading was light and crisp, the flounder itself was light and tender. The Manager/Owner, Billy is a very nice person. He tries to greet everybody as they come in. He holds the door open for Elderly and Handicapped guests.
