We've been patrons of Emilio's for almost 5 yrs. We've always enjoyed going there for dinner because not only is the food authentic Italian cuisine but the prices are reasonable and the dining room service is friendly and efficient. We've brought friends and family there often over the years. We've bought gift cards and ordered holiday trays of food. That being said, last night I decided on having pizza for dinner and remembered I had 10 coupons cut from pizza boxes that offered a free large pizza, however I noticed that one of the coupons was from the Jackson location. I've never been there because I live right across the street from the Toms River location and presumed they used that box because they received a batch of boxes from the Jackson location. Nevertheless, when I called to order the pizza I told them I had 10 coupons but one was from the Jackson location even though I've always gotten my pizzas from the Toms River location. The girl put me on hold to see if they would honor it and when she got back to me said they would. When I picked up the pizza a girl, who I assume was in charge counted the coupons and pulled out the one from Jackson and said she couldn't accept it. I explained I'd gotten it from her location and have never been to the Jackson location. Another employee said they told me over the phone that they would. The person in charge looked at me as if I was lying and told me in a very condescending way that she would only accept it THIS time as she was voiding out the coupon on the pizza box I was picking up. I never saw this person there before and she was the first and only one who was ever rude to me. After I arrived home with my pizza, the more I thought about that encounter the more upset I got. So I called them back and asked to speak with the owner. I explained the whole situation and told him we have been long time customers who brought friends and family there, bought several gift cards and even ordered holiday trays of entrees that cost hundreds of dollars each time He thanked me for being a good customer but did not apologize for the way I was treated by his employee in charge. Based on the owner's unempathetic attitude towards me and the rude employee he put in charge, my family and I will not patronize Emilio's Restaurant and Pizzerria any longer nor will we refer people to go there. It's a shame that a mere coupon issue will cause Emilio's a loss of good customers and...
Read moreI don't know what happened to this place but my family and I used to order from here every week but I've just had too many bad experiences with them that have made me never want to order from there again. Number one they overcook the pizza all the time I can't tell you how many times I've come home with a pizza that is entirely brown from being left in the oven too long. Number two they will just make up the prices if they can't remember what their menu says. I'll go home after I pick up my order and do the math and realize I got overcharged, one time by nearly 10 dollars. And since they don't give receipts there's no way to really prove it. Although to be fair they did give me back the money they overcharged me one time. But the biggest problem is that when I order over the phone they can't seem to get the order correct anymore even when I have them repeat it back to me. 2 weeks ago we ordered 2 pizzas and 2 ravioli dinners. The girl that took the order over the phone repeated it back to me and I asked her to quote me the price and it ended up being 58 dollars. I go to pick it up and they only had 1 ravioli dish yet somehow it was still the same price. Instead of admitting their mistake they insisted I ordered one and then when I asked why am I still paying 58 dollars? The manager and the girl start whispering to each other for a minute and come up with a way to make the total 58 dollars with the 2 pizzas and the 1 ravioli dish. I was furious and still have no idea how they came up with the total. The last time and final time I will ever go there I simply placed an order for a white pizza. I go to pick it up 20 minutes later and they don't have it because the girk never put in the order. But Instead of apologizing for the mistake they act like I never placed the order like I imagined it even though I showed them the call list on my phone and show them that I called them 20 minutes ago. I'm sorry but after these experiences I refuse to go back and I swear I'm not exaggerating by any means. They lost a...
