I had one of the worst food experiences at Mayabazar Truck recently. We placed our order over a phone call, they told it would be ready in 30 minutes, but even after showing up 45 minutes later, the food was still not ready. What made it worse? We were standing right in front of the truck and no one acknowledged us, no greeting, no check-in, no courtesy at all. Just complete ignorance.
We ordered 3 plates of idly and 1 bonda the ghee karam idly and bonda were bland, with no ghee at all. I asked for extra chutney and was given 5 half-filled packets as you can see in the picture, and apparently, they were already running out of chutney while customers were still waiting in line. Unacceptable.
After that we ordered 1 Chicken Manchurian and 3 Chicken Fried Rice (extra spicy) – We clearly mentioned 'extra spicy' three times, but the Manchurian came out way too sweet, loaded with ketchup, and zero spice. The fried rice? Just plain rice tossed in masala with 4-5 pieces of chicken thrown in. No flavor, no balance nothing like what was promised.
And let’s not forget the chaotic service. The girl at the counter, putting on a fake accent, had no clue about the menu and had to ask someone else every time we inquired about an item. The entire team seemed uncoordinated and unprofessional.
This place is all hype with no taste or hospitality. If you're not ready to treat customers right or serve quality food, you shouldn’t be in the food business.
Would NOT recommend. -5 out of 5 stars. Better change your cook, and...
Read moreSecond : Revised on 4th visit : tried this place 3 more times on weekdays and weekends to see if service would be any different. Unfortunately, they are short Staffed leading to unreasonable wait times. It took 1:20 hr after being told 30 mins for pickup on the phone and zero regard to customer service. Dine in and take out orders are from the same window, queue systems are not enforced, loudest voices are attended first. No one even cares about the customer. Owners : As someone who has supported local businesses for many years, let me nudge you to pay attention to your customer service first. It’s 2025, nobody has the time to wait for 2 hr just to get lunch/dinner. This is not a sustainable model long term.
First review : The food at Mayabazar is good , we tried the egg noodles which was good and tasted like street side noodles in India. Chicken pulav and chai was average. Chicken vepudu and punugulu were good. However, I’m not sure if we’ll be returning to eat here again due to the wait time. In 2025, time is money and I don’t know if waiting for 1-1.5 hrs for an order is even worth it. Don’t expect much in terms of customer service as they are too busy with orders to attend to any customers or ask for feedback. Overall, good food, average service, would only recommend it if you have...
Read moreTried Mayabazaar yesterday with a few friends’ families, and it was a pleasant surprise! The food truck has plenty of parking and even a few tables to sit and enjoy the food.
For a food truck, the taste and quality were really good, and the prices were reasonable. We tried a few dosa varieties, which were tasty, but the highlights were definitely the Chicken Fried Rice and Biryani – both excellent! The sodas and appetizers were also refreshing and flavorful.
The food leans more towards Andhra-style, so expect it to be a bit spicy 🌶️. Service was quick, though I’d suggest serving appetizers before the main course 😄.
Overall, a great spot if you’re craving authentic, spicy Indian street-style food in Manchester. Will definitely...
