I was so lucky to be in the right place at the right time to meet Cheryl and Holly! Standing at a friend's shop, they were in to get ready for the opening of their coffee shop and looking for furniture, and of course, we all got to chatting! After all they went through to secure the space and get it open, some people would have switched gears. Not this duo! With life and work, I still hadn't stopped in. When my friend was planning a meeting up, immediately, I jumped at the chance to finally visit! Instantly walking in, you felt a positive vibe, a good energy, a place that you could tuck into and just get lost for a while. A moody green saturation on walls and trim in just the ideal tone for maximum coziness. Chairs and tables and cute seating abound. There is a lot of space to spread out, and yet they maintain a feeling of unity within all the vignettes. I am always a fan of asking the barrisa what their coffee of the moment they would select. Eyes brightened when an iced pistachio mocha was suggested. I went with whole milk in lieu of oat, but I know it would have been just as delightful. The brew, bright, and no acid after taste. The overall drink didn't taste overwhelmingly like syrup or sweetness. The balance was ideal! Before my friend arrived, a darling, smart as a whip kiddo, came out of the reserved kids area. Yes! You read that right. There is even a room that kids can write on the chalkboard walls and hang out with their friends or make a new one, too. She challenged me to a couple of tic tac toe games before I sunk into the buttery leather couches to catch up with a dear friend. I don't know how I resisted all the treats, but all the more reason to go back to support a small business! Why go to those corporate run places instead of a place where you can have a conversation with generations of family. Making not only their lives better but the community as well. Congratulations on the new spot! It lives up to the name Peaceful Grounds! I can't wait to return with some new friends soon!

This place is absolutely beautiful inside! They have a good selection to choose from, but not so much that it’s overwhelming. My shaken espresso was delicious and the workers were SO kind. Hidden gem with lots of events too! Will be back! The owner (I assume) thanked us for coming and was very sweet. Support local!

I live in Joliet close to Manhattan and this is a local hidden gem, stopped in for the first time today and the inside is very nice, clean and offers plenty of comfortable seats and couches to work or have a good coffee. I tried their brown sugar shaken espresso and it was great. Definitely will be coming back.

I absolutely love this new coffee shop! The decor is so cute and the entire atmosphere is incredibly cozy—it really makes you want to stay, relax and meet up with your closest friends! The employees are also wonderful; they’re friendly and attentive, always making you feel welcome. The menu has a great variety, and today’s beverages were just perfect. I had a moment where I became a bit emotional, and one of the staff members kindly came over to check on me, which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture. I highly recommend this place and truly hope it thrives...

I received the most wonderful customer service just now! So much so that I had to go ask these young ladies what their names were so I can give them recognition. Jillian (sorry if I spelled it wrong), Alexa and Ella were pleasant and very positively and genuinely hospitable to our entire group of eleven. This is now my favorite coffee spot and I will be telling everyone I speak to about it! So glad our meeting was here! I would be proud to have these ladies as my...
