When they say this is the Milkhouse at Oregon Dairy, they aren't kidding. When you order from the outside counter and enjoy your treats outside you can see the dairy from right where you are (and likely smell it too, haha). Do note, the outdoor counter is seasonal and closes during the winter so if enjoying your ice cream outdoors is your thing, plan your visit accordingly. However, definitely come by in the fall during peak fall foliage as you can get some nice views of the dairy in autumn. The outdoor seating area when I was there was nice and clean and plenty of shade for guests. Other than that, it's like those old-time ice cream stands you walk right up to the window from outside and order/receive your ice cream. I rated the food at four stars, but that is likely due to my choice of item being a milkshake made from hand-dipped ice cream more than the quality of the ice cream. The cookies and cream shake I had was really tasty but was a little thin for my preference since it was made from hand-dipped ice cream. But the other items I saw looked really good and they have a nice variety of flavors and treats to go around. I certainly would like to give them another try next summer and try a waffle cone or a sundae. Again, don't be discouraged from my choice of dish as the outside counter at the milkhouse is a great experience to enjoy some ice cream during the warmer months with the dairy in view and...

So this past Sunday, we decide to go out for breakfast. We love breakfast buffets so I came across Oregon Dairy. I read the reviews, which were mostly positive, and decided it was a safe bet. Well we were wrong. I’m not sure where to begin so I’ll just list some of the issues. The scrambled eggs were dry and tough. The bacon was overdone. The chipped beef gravy had no flavor and was paste-like. The hash brown casserole suffered from the no taste issue. The donuts were tough and we’ve had better at Maple Donuts. They had turkey ham which I will simply describe as disgusting. It was literally burnt and never should have been put out. The pastries were dry, stale and again tasteless. The only things that were decent was the chocolate milk, the orange juice and the sausage (which was edible but not the best). The whole buffet was a major disappointment and the only good thing was that it was under 10. If we had paid more, we would have asked for our money back. I have no idea what others are raving about other than perhaps the menu items are better. Needless to say, we won’t be back to find out. The grocery store wasn’t much better. Again the only decent thing we bought was the chocolate milk. We tried the bread (hearing that the baked items were so good), Whoopie pies and some deli items. We will pass on going to the store as well. Save yourself a trip and try a different place. You...

My favorite Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant for over 20 years. It has always been consistent. Food quality excellent and portions ample. Service staff is friendly and efficient. Chicken croquettes are wonderfully homemade and are like heaven. Served on top of fluffy high real mashed potatoes with dreamy chicken gravy. Try the homemade pie with a dip of homemade ice cream. Seniors get a 20% discount. Breakfast here is also quite delicious. The meatloaf is marvelous. The homemade rolls are delectable. They also have an all you can eat food bar with salads, Pennsylvania Dutch dishes and shrimp. Get an ice cream cone to go on your way out at the outside window. Stroll by the farm animals on display on the way to your car or visit their on site supermarket where you will find all the usual grocery items along with some of the prepared food items from the restaurant. Chicken pot pie anyone? Easy entry and exit off Rt 222 at the Oregon exit, just North of Rt 30 and the city of Lancaster. One more thing is that you will be eating with the locals as this is not a tourist spot. A real must try when in the Reading Lancaster area!

Once again we visited Oregon Dairy Restaurant and had another delicious meal. We also received the 10 % Senior Discount which I am most grateful for. Not many businesses today still offer this to seniors! Thanks...

So i came here for Neffville Elementary school fundraiser. Of course my son tells me as soon as he gets home the day of and I already cooked. Any how, we decided we will go in for dessert. Very awesome country vibe. Good service, ohhh so yummy dessert choices. I had the pumpkin woopie pie sundae drowned in carmel sauces which laid on top of pumpkin spice icecream. It was on the sweeter side but who can pass up this fall goodness in a gigantic mug. Hubby got the apple dumpling which was made to perfection, never tasted one better. And loved that it wasn't too sweet. I only gave it 3 stars because 1. I didn't eat dinner so I couldnt rate the food. 2. Fundraiser clarity 👎. They told a fellow NEFF family that they couldn't be seated if they are only having dessert ( which we did ) And that their icecream purchase ( which is apart of thier restaurant ) wouldn't count for the fundraiser. So no Xfactor points for them.
