My husband and I have been eating at Garda’s for about five years now. We eat here once a month on our way through the area. We have always got the Italian PO’ Boy and the Club sandwiches with the House dressing (which is this delicious, thick balsamic vinaigrette that has this kind of sweet flavor...it’s fabulous and I put it on everything). The sandwiches are simply divine, with thick-cut meats and cheeses. We recently ate here and decided to switch it up a bit and ordered our sandwiches to go. Being that it was a Friday, Garda’s had some seafood specials like pastas and fish-based dishes. I ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter which came with cod, shrimp, and scallops with an added lobster tail in this lovely roasted garlic sauce. The price was $21.95, or $15.95 without the lobster tail. This was amazing to my husband and I because not only was there a TON of food on my plate, but I also received a baked potato, a side of pasta, and a salad with their house dressing (of course!), and some of their fresh-baked bread! I was in heaven, and for several days thereafter since I had so much food to take home with me! My husband ordered the lasagna, and to say that their lasagna portions are huge is an understatement. The lasagna was literally about the length of a casserole dish, and about a third of a casserole dish width. He had several days of leftovers as well. We ate at the bar and had some funny conversations with our bartender/server. We have witnessed the quality of their food increase since we began eating here, and with prices remaining exceptionally affordable for the quantity we receive, it has clearly become one of our favorite restaurants. Keep up the great...
Read moreFor my son's Birthday he choose Garda's. We ordered his favorite, chicken tenders and fries. It's his favorite dish and I have to agree Garda's version is simply the best. My wife and I ordered the ravioli and seafood alfredo fettuccine.
When the main dishes were delivered 45 minutes after ordering I noticed immediately the dried out noodles and glazed over sauce, a result of the completed dishes not being delivered to the table in a reasonable time. As I suspected the fries and chicken tenders were also cold.
I asked why the food was cold, and the server explained that she had just received the call to deliver the food. She continued explaining there is no manager on duty and the cook would not be coming to the table to explain. When she asked what she could do, I explained it's been a long wait and we will deal with what she served.
I thought the server was great until much to my surprise, she stayed table side needling at me about what she could do. She told me she didn't cook the food and didn't appreciate me yelling at her. I assured her, I never raised my voice to her and maybe she should take her frustrations to the person that prepared the meals. In a rage, she said, "If you won't let me do anything then just take everything for free." and abandoned us for the remainder of our time there.
We stayed long enough for my son to enjoy his Birthday chicken and fries. My wife and I didn't have much of an appetite following the embarrassing performance. There is a certain expectation of food service. We don't live in a perfect world and not everything requires a "fix", nor would I expect a free meal when I verbally accepted to deal with...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst dining experience and 'Italian' food I've ever had. Honestly, I wouldn't even leave one star if I didn't have to. Upon entering, stood in a small, crowded bar area for well over 20 minutes before even seeing someone who resembled a working employee. Finally, we tracked down a hostess who cleaned off a table and seated our party. Waitress did not seem thrilled at all to be given another table. Ordered drinks and an appetizer to begin. Despite the lackluster appetizer, we ordered meals. Being that this place is a so called Italian establishment, I found it shocking when the waitress informed they were out of spaghetti. Really? Inexcusable. Prior to receieving our pasta, we were treated to bread which was stale and a salad that consisted of simply lettuce and one cucumber slice. When the pasta finally arrived, we were warned that the plates were super hot and not to touch them. Either the food was microwaved, or it sat under a heating lamp for an extended period of time. The pasta was overcooked, meatballs were burnt, sauce was watered down, and in general everything was very bland. I was hoping to add something for flavor, but parmesan cheese is not something you will find on the table. I asked the waitress for some cheese, along with refills, but neither ever arrived. We also sat at the table for almost 30 minutes waiting for a check. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Trust me when I say this, you're better off grabbing dinner from the gas station down the road. I would not return and definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone....
