Excellent! Great food, great service, great place to spend some time with friends, family, both or enjoy a meal on your own. Just be prepared to wait in line as this is a small seater and the area is in desperate need of places to sit down, relax and chow down. So nice to have a new restaurant in Mantua and the town has turned out! For appetizers the tabled ordered Street Corn & Nachos Supreme. The nachos were a meal in themselves and came loaded. The toppings served on a separate plate, the lettuce, diced tomato, jalapenos, sour cream & jalapenos. I rarely have nachos served to me these days such as these. Usually I am disappointed getting some chips with just a hint of actual ingredients thrown on top but these were a sight to behold! A throw back to when kitchens cared when what they sent out to tables mattered. I was hopeful for the main courses and was not disappointed. The main course was Seafood Chimichanga but I asked them to hold the tilapia and just add more crab and shrimp instead. It was served with refried beans and rice and was so large it actually was 3 meals for me. It had flavor. It was fresh! All of it was really, really good. All the portions were large which can be seen in the photos. Also ordered was Enchilada(6) Mexicana, refried & beans came with, 12 BBQ wings( large wings which were highly rated), a Chica burger(unbelievable size, also highly rated) and 1 beverage. Prices were reasonable. Oh, and I just returned from Texas where I spent weeks eating a lot of Mexican food, good and bad. More bad than I care to remember. I am thrilled Los Venados is in the neighborhood. I'll be there often. Hope to...
Read moreWe went to Los Venados two different evenings. One night was around 7 pm on a Thursday, I believe. It wasn't very busy. The service wasn't great that night. The people were nice and all, but they never refilled our chips and salsa, which the kid likes to eat. They just didn't seem very attentive this night. The food was great. It is a little more pricey than some of the other Mexican places I've been to, and still go to. The second evening was around 5 pm on a Friday. It was decently busy on this night, but the service was way better. The staff was friendly as always, but this time our server was on top of everything. Refilling drinks, chips, salsa and coleslaw. The food was great again. One thing I wish they'd work on is offering some Wi-Fi or something. This place is a dead zone for my cellular signal. Now, that could be a good thing if you have difficulties with your kids always being on their phones, but it could also be super annoying if you're trying to meet up with people or check in on a babysitter, and aren't able to due to no signal. Not a deal breaker by any means, but definitely something to be aware of if you need communication while you're here. Parking is pretty easy. Plenty of space and easy to enter and exit. I'm sure we'll go to this place again, especially since it's pretty...
Read moreExcellent! I really enjoyed everything about this place. Very generous portions and we each only finished half our meals. Although they were busy, they immediately got us to a place at the bar and someone gave us the menu. It's an extensive menu with lots of choices. I eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants and there were things I'd never heard of before which is a great sign. We started with an appetizer called Queso Fundido and I remember thinking, "If this is any indication of things to come, this is going to be a great meal!". It's a chorizo with 3 different types of cheese that stretches to the ceiling when you lift your chip, lol. Next up, the main entree called Mantua Burrito. Chicken strips wrapped along with mushrooms, chorizo and grilled onions, then topped with melted cheese, pico and sour cream. Another home run. I'll definitely come back to try a few other items I...
