Heards BBQ And Soul Food — Restaurant in Maplesville

This was my 1st visit to Heard's. Had the pulled pork sandwhich.... VERY generous size and tasted soooooooo good!!!

New 2-3-24 Today I ate at the new location in Clanton. So excited that it is only 3 mi from my house! My husband brought an order home 2 weeks ago that he picked up after work. I enjoyed that sandwich just as much as first one. My dad drove down from Calera this morning to meet me & give it a try since he had been hearing so much about it, he also read an article online about the owner that impressed him. We arrived 30 mins before they open & ppl already waiting in parking lot. 15 mins before door opened, folks got out of cars & started forming a line in front of bldg. We were let in at 11, ordering went well very friendly employees & got food quickly. Dad ordered rib plate with mac n cheese, I got chopped pork plate with mac n cheese/coleslaw (& we got a pork sandwich to bring to my bro.) I really enjoyed the pork & Dad did, too. Ribs were ok. Talked with some ppl waiting in line who had gotten them here before & said meat falling off bone, it wasn't quite like that today although Dad & I both agreed the flavor was very good. Will definately go back and try some different menu items. Dad wanted to taste pigtails but they had already sold out of 1st batch & it would be an hr before next was done. Something to look forward...

Found the holy grail of bbq. If heaven has bbq, they got the recipe from Heards. The only thing better than the food is the customer service. I now know why they are so highly rated on Google. The only negative thing about eating here is realizing you will never find another bbq that could live up to their quality and taste. Bbq so good you'll slap yo mama! I've been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years and it's so awesome to see an owner with so much passion in their work. I want lessons from the pitmaster because God has blessed this man with pure talent!

Food is normally the only thing in town worth eating, last few times I would say otherwise. I posted earlier bc we have have a short time to get food and eat you get upset when it is wrong. I tried calling no amswer but that understandable. I know I'm not the only one it happens to and I know that it won't always be that way. So if you are in a rush I suggest going over your order.
