Hagge's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Mapleton

This is near my employer's truck terminal. It was closed earlier this year, due to Covid restrictions, but I finally had a chance to try it.

After running inside to the accompaniment of a loud thunderclap, and resembling a drown rat, because thunderstorms in ND are no joke, i was greeted by a friendly bartender.

I had a 5 oz sirloin with a salad and a baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly as ordered. The baker was really baked. Love what that does to the potato skin. They use REAL butter. The salad greens were fresh and the salad included generous amounts of shredded cheese and tasty croutons. Garlic toast was a nice compliment.

I ordered just as the kitchen closed, but it was obvious the cook was still taking care of business.

My only regret is it will probably be at least a month before I can visit again.

The owner of this establishment, Jason, should definitely NOT be working with the public. What an attitude! We scheduled our class reunion to be held at Hagge's nearly a year in advance. I have text messages to prove it (and YES, you did reply). We show up only to be told we weren't on the schedule and he was short staffed and not prepared. The poor attitude, rudeness, unprofessionalism from not only him, but the older woman was shocking. You would think making money would be a good thing, but his attitude never improved. I highly recommend you avoid this place at all costs. Jason is very lucky to have the ladies working for him that were there that night. I don't know where our reunion will be in 10 years, but I can guarantee where it will not be. If I could give negative stars, I definitely would. Lucky for him, I waited 2 weeks to post...

I walked in with my family of 6 we went to the side with all of the games. There were a few people in the bar. No staff yet that I saw. A woman walks out and immediately tells us there are no kids allowed on that side. She was was extremely rude. Did not say sorry no kids on this side or direct is to where there were other games to play. She rudely said absolutely no kids on this side and just walked away. We left. I know it won’t kill their business that we didn’t eat there but that woman’s attitude will and customer service will. Don’t go here if you...
