I brought my kids here on 4/7/22, because we previously had such a great experience. Today was different. We were initially greeted with a warm face and smile from the other waitress, however the waitress we had serve us did not appear to like children and was annoyed that my 2 year old was touching the Easter decals by their register, which we were sitting right next to. She took them away from him and threw them in the trash, like she was disgusted that he touched them. I noticed her aggression and moved my son closer to me. As we sat and waited for our food, my son sat at an empty booth next to our table. He got a vanilla creamer from a bowl and tried to open it to drink it. She walked over, grabbed at his face aggressively, taking away the creamer. I told her it wasn’t necessary to do that and told her not to touch my child like that. She replied with an attitude saying it was creamer he was trying to drink. I repeated myself and she walked away, not caring about her rude behavior or even apologizing. I talked to the owner and he said that shouldn’t have happened and he’d talked to her. After he spoke to her, I heard her raise her voice, saying she didn’t do that and that she was “pissed,” as if she was physically touched or disrespected. She proceeds to storm out in the diner and yell at me and my family that she didn’t do that, calling me a liar. I told her I clearly saw her do that to my son, with my own eyes and she yelled back at us and stormed away. I have never felt so upset or disrespected in my life. My son didn’t deserve this treatment, he is 2!!!! My 6 year old was upset asking why the waitress treated us like that and mad that she did that to his little brother. My 8 year old said he never wanted to go back there. This is supposed to be a family friendly diner. Her behavior is extremely unprofessional and disgusting. She shouldn’t be a server if she is going to take out her bad days on children. I cannot believe that I am sitting here writing this review. I will never return here and subject my family to aggressive behavior. I can’t believe this even...

Mid way through our harrowing journey, we found outselves aimless and wandering this distant land known as "Maplewood". We weren't in Wisconsin any more, Toto. As hope nearly gave out, there like a shining beacon upon the hill... ok that was a stoplight at an intersection, BUT! Beside that intersection, nestled covertly beneath a sign which read only "Cafe" we discovered our destination. Mick's Corner Cafe. As we parked our chariot in the non-descript lot, we proceeded to step through the door. Before my weary ass found its respite, THE WAITSTAFF WAS UPON US! Coffee in hand, I had my mug of hot gold right as I found my bench. With a swiftness that would rival the ancient Greek marathoners our order was taken and like the Aphrodite of Cafe Cuisine, Rebecca appeared as if from nowhere with our meal. I inhaled it. The speed with which I consumed my California Ranch burger so startled my wife that she felt compelled to hand over half of hers lest she be consumed as well! I needed more. The home made chili and fries which followed soon sated my appetite. We came. We saw. We drank good coffee, ate good food, and (to my dismay) did not need to rob the local baron to pay for our meal. Stay tuned. We...

MICK’s reminds me of somewhere Anthony Bourdain would have gone to on his show. Telling us all about the simple complications, flavors, and smells that never let you down, and always bring you home.

My 9 year old daughter and I were looking for a new local breakfast spot, aside from Little Oven and 5•8 (which are BOTH terrific). We just wanted to do something new. So we looked at the menu, the photos included with reviews and decided this was going to be OUR SPOT Saturday morning.

MICK’s DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Super friendly staff, very clean atmosphere, awesome smells, fresh coffee, and a ambiance that reminded me of my Dad taking me to cafe/diners over the last 40 years.

I found Mick’s simply because I’m a frequent at Nino’s Pizzeria down a couple doors. I never went in bc I was always there around lunch for pizza, and never really thought I had the time to sit-down and enjoy a...

We came to Mike's for a late breakfast on a cool, cloudy Autumn afternoon. The place was quiet, with a few folks scattered throughout the cafe. We were greeted kindly, told to sit wherever we like, and promptly brought menus and our drink orders taken as soon as we found a nice, cozy window booth. Having recently started a temporary keto diet, we were a bit unsure what we could actually eat, and ended up ordering some breakfast items without the toast/pancakes/carbs. Our server seemed amused but was very accommodating and polite, working with us to meet our needs. The coffee was amazing, perfect in every way. The food was delicious, just a plate of eggs and meat for me and a simple omelette for my partner. We enjoyed every bite, and relished the calm, welcoming atmosphere just the same. We would definitely come here again, and are glad we discovered Mike's on such a day.

I've always seen this place ever since it was an ice cream shop, but I never stepped foot inside to what's now the cafe. This place is a very casual, unassuming little cafe. Since it was our very first time here, we were kind of like deer facing headlights since we weren't greeted or waited to a table like at a Dennys or other type of diner, so we weren't really sure what to do. We stood for around 45 seconds and a couple noticed us and one them had told me it was okay to seat ourselves. Thank you, sir 🙏 We placed our order and food was very delicious and fresh. Compliments to the cook, I love their hash browns. It felt very homey. This was just our experience but as we sat I noticed other guests being greeted. So some pointers for first timers: Seat yourselves, make yourself comfy, and anticipate delicious food.
