This is a terrible coffee shop for people who seem to have no idea what good coffee and espresso drinks are supposed to taste like. A basic latte here tastes like they used dish water and has a very distinctly disgusting taste. Now if you order an oat milk latte, just throw it right in the trash as it's going to taste even worse and leave a long lasting bad taste in your mouth.
I have visited this place numerous times in hopes that they were just having a bad day but the quality of the drinks should not vary so wildly. Other reviews say their sugared up, barely coffee, milk shake type drinks are great which is awesome for those who enjoy that type of thing but if you like coffee/espresso drinks that taste like, you know, actual coffee, this isn't the place for you.
This is not worth the drive, not worth the 15+ minute wait, and most definitely not worth the worst latte I have ever had. You are better off getting regular coffee from the gas station across the street. I guarantee it will taste better and be cheaper.
The one saving grace is their croissant sandwiches are quite tasty.
My advice to the owners of this place is to find some actual baristas and then train them on how to make the various drinks. Have them actually taste those drinks and see how good/bad they are. Just because you are the only coffee shop in a 10 mile radius doesn't mean you can serve this below standard swill.
We attempted to contact this establishment numerous times and the phone rang through to a voicemail box that was not setup. This left us no other choice than to leave this scathing review. You all need to do a lot better.
We won't be coming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been here a couple of times. The coffee flavors are absolutely delicious. I feel like their teas could be better. I ordered a London fog tea this time around which I was not impressed with since the flavors weren't as strong. A good London fog on a cloudy or rainy day is my go to. Hubby got a seasonal pumpkin spiced latte and that was delicious! Their flavored coffees are out of this world and I would highly recommend. If you are a tea drinker, the teas are decent, but I feel like I've had better.
FYI, there aren't really places to sit, but there is enough space where you can park your car and eat/ drink in your car. One feedback for the business is to move up the matcha menu so it's easy to see at the drive thru. I totally wasn't able to see that they had a matcha until after I already ordered. I'll be back to try their matcha. The service otherwise...
Read moreYellow Dog Coffee was definitely one of the highlights of our trip out to Spicewood. We cannot go without a cup (or three) and we definitely enjoyed some treats here. The girls that work here are a delight - super friendly & very patient explaining some of their different drinks and taking the time to understand our flavor preferences so they can make suggestions accordingly. On our first visit we both tried an iced witches brew & this was DELICIOUS! We also grabbed jalapeño cheese kolaches which we thoroughly enjoyed. On our second visit we tried an iced toasty campfire & an iced maple coffee (not sure exactly what it was) but once again, we were not disappointed. The girls were able to make my drinks half as sweet which came out perfect for me. If we are driving through the area we will certainly go out of our way to stop back in and try something new...
