Great place to stop, especially if you love Middle Eastern food and or are going to the Caverns!

This is one of those restaurants that make you ask the question, "Really?" I write that because I never expected to find such an incredible middle eastern restaurant in my familial hometown (parents/grandparents grew up there, and I grew up visiting often).

After living in larger cities and traveling internationally, Middle Eastern food is one of my favorites. Getting homemade, made with love, and delicious, authentic Middle Eastern food has been a challenge since moving to Panama City Beach. Mashawy has solved that problem.

This is a family owned and run business. The owner's son was our waiter, and he greeted us with a smile and very cheerful attitude. As we ate, and kept exclaiming over how delicious everything boss, we met everyone! It was a special pleasure to meet Nadya the chef. She works magic in the kitchen! Her baba ghanoush recipe is unlike any other I've had, but like any variation on a dish, it was awesome. Pastier then the creamy dip I'm used to, the flavors of eggplant really came out in a more nuttier flavor been smokey, which was a neat change. I had the falafel wrap with homemade French fries. I love falafel wraps and theirs is the best one I've had in years! My friend had a wrap also and they kindly substituted a small Greek salad for the fries. As we ate and spoke with the owner and his lovely family, we were charmed and saw where his son got his big smile, cheerful attitude, and work ethic. They were even so kind as to share a desert with us!

I've known that Mahawy has been there for a few of years, and I can only kick myself for not going earlier. I don't leave a lot of reviews, so forgive any awkwardness with this. Bottom line: HIGHLY REOMMENDED FOR ATMOSPHERE,...

It's truly a gem in Marianna, FL. And all the great reviews about this place do not lie. I drove over an hour just to try some Mediterranean food and I was extremely glad I did. It was raining quite heavily when we got here. The place looks clean and spacious inside. The lights were a little dim. We got the booth by the window with the view of the rain hitting the windows and the cars passing by in the rain on the highway next to the restaurant. We ordered the Mashawy soup, which was house soup with chicken, rice and some herbs in it. It was good for the weather. Next we ordered the signature lamb chops and they were absolutely amazing. The lamb chops were grilled superbly well and had balanced flavors of pepper and aromatic spices. It just tasted juicy and succulent. The basmati rice was filled with flavors of saffron. The pita bread was great, too. And I absolutely loved the hummus. It was fresh and it tasted beautiful with the olive oil. I highly recommend the dish. We ordered Konafa for dessert. It was one of the best desserts I have had in a while. It was served hot. Its rich buttery creamy taste with pistachios was just heavenly. Every bite was filled with greatness. We concluded our meal with hot tea, the Mashawi tea. It was perfect for the weather and tasted great with cinnamon and other spices. Sami and his wife have got a great place here. Highly...

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mashawi Mediterranean restaurant, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff who made me feel right at home.

The food at Mashawi is simply outstanding. I had the pleasure of trying their lamb chops, and they were nothing short of amazing. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a beautiful char on the outside. The flavor was out of this world, with just the right amount of seasoning to bring out the natural flavors of the meat. The sides that accompanied the dish were equally delicious and beautifully presented.

But it wasn't just the food that impressed me. The service at Mashawi was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely, with a warm and inviting ambiance that made me feel like I was dining in a Mediterranean paradise.

Overall, I highly recommend Mashawi Mediterranean restaurant to anyone looking for exceptional food and service in Marianna, Florida. Their lamb chops are an absolute must-try, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious menu offerings. Thank you, Mashawi, for an unforgettable dining...

On a whim, I picked this restaurant. I haven't ever heard of it before, but saw all the raving reviews. I figured it would be a wonderful experience, but far from it. I ordered some food to go and planned on taking it to a park to eat it, but there was no take out silverware. Okay, no biggie. I might have some extra in the truck. I realized I was overcharged for a combo that I didn't order. Well, the guy gave me a refund in cash, which is okay. Going back in for a third time, it was as if it was a hassle on them for having the order wrong. My gyro salad was missing the meat. What made it worse was the fact the employees were angry because I wanted it fixed correctly. No apologies, no friendly behavior, and rude comments were loud from the back. This was not my mistake, so not sure why the cook was angry. Also, there was a nasty smell by the register. Maybe it was an off day. I hope others have a better visit than we did. I am including a picture of the final product.

My wife and I drove past this restaurant on the way to the Florida Caverns and thought to come for lunch after the park tour. We were not disappointed. From the time we entered we were greeted kindly and served right away. We ordered a Greek salad to share which was very well portioned and tasty. For our meal we ordered three wraps because we couldnt decide which to choose, they all sounded great. We had a Shawarma (with beef), a Gyro, and a falafel and in my opinion the Gyro was the most flavorful, but the Shawarma had the blackened steak taste which I loved, and the falafel was also very tasty. For desert we got a Baklava which was very crispy and was sat in a pool of a sweet syrup. I would highly recommend, but be sure to ask for a knife. We are from Panama City, an hour away, but will definitely be making another trip here.
