cash only Open until 8 Great ice cream and other dairy items Not overpriced ! Play area for kids
Saw this on the map and decided to stop. Thought it was the Pennstate creamery. I pull in the parking lot, no cars there and no lights on. Didn't see anyone inside. Google said it was open, the door said "open come in", and there was a sign outside with summer hours indicating it was open. Disappointed they abandoned working for the day, I took a picture of the sign and for fun, tried opening the door.
They are amish! So... if it looks closed, don't leave !
As for the ice cream, I got the cookies and cream/oreo and was impressed. I grew up next to a dairy farm and their cookies and cream is unlike any I've ever had. The ice cream is darker and the cookies are mixed in. Well this place was like that and that's the first time I've had it elsewhere. As good as it was, the ice cream was very hard and not melting well. I got a pint of cookies and cream milk for $1.30, and carageenan was an ingredient... so maybe they add to the ice...

I have had their locally made ice cream before, and it was good but you can't duplicate the flavor you get when it's fresh from the farm! I stopped over last night and had a milkshake, and it was no joke the best milkshake hands down that I ever had. Thinking that possibly it was a one time super moon event, I went back today to have another one, that was a flavor that wouldn't be my first choice, and incredibly it was just as good! Anyway the people running the place are simple, ride to work on horse, bicycle or just walk but make no mistake their ice cream flavors / selection are anything but simple. They are country folks so your not going to have tv, Wi-Fi or anything fancy plus They are not open on Sunday and believe me they will do just fine! If your traveling on rt 80 near the Centre county/ Clinton county lines do yourself a favor and stop by for an exceptional ice...

I wish I would have had a cooler with me - they had frozen beef at some amazing prices, in addition to fresh milk and other dairy products. Itโs worth remembering that most of us are visiting a different culture when we come here, and there are some legitimate language and body language hurdles. I saw a PA Dutch / Amish family come in and order some ice cream, and could see the kid who was running the store completely relax when they started talking.
