Wow! This is an incredible and shockingly great restaurant in the small town of Marion. Comparable food & quality of dishes to nyc (where I spend most of my time). The dishes are not only delicious but interesting and the flavor profiles are on point! I'm so happy to finally have a great option for lunch or dinner near my parents when visiting. Also worth mentioning their cocktails which are superb (coming from someone who is an owner of a cocktail bar in nyc), and their wine list is very good, differing from the area's typical boring choices at other places. Outdoor patio seating is lovely but their interior seating option with the communal table may not be the most enjoyable and acceptable seating for people in the area. In the city sure, but here, not so much. Pricing is as expected for the quality of dishes received. I will happily pay for this excellent food and can't wait to...
Read moreCute new taps place in Marion, run by the "Ella's" people in Wareham. I think the "by the sea" is a bit of a stretch - it's in Marion, and the harbor is an easy walk, but it's in the village and there is no water view, even from the outside patio )which is very nicely decorated). I think the food's a bit hit or miss, depending on your taste - my wife though some of the spices were "strange". I liked most dises, but the fried fish was in a blue cornmeal, which gave it somewhat of a strange look. Most of the dishes are very small - I had skit steak skewer that was two (1 inch square pieces) for $17 - most of the tapa average around $18, with tacos a bit less, which can add up quickly for two people.
I'll give them another visit - maybe trying the "large plate" entrees and a couple of the taps as an appetizer. Expect to spend $180+ for drinks, 6-8 tapa/sushi, and...
Read moreMy friend and I wanted to try Cast since it opened. We waited until the "BUGS" should have been worked out. We sat outside on the patio. While waiting for our waitress, we noticed birds landing on the glasses that were on the table outside. These are glasses and silverware that are used on the tables. Not thrilled. We had 2 drinks each and 2 plates of food plus an app. To tell you the truth, I don't even remember what we ate. It was so small and unremarkable. But the bill was a whopping $115.00 ! They put all kinds of tips and 'charges' on the bill. We are both very hefty tippers, but in this instance, we barely did 15%. The waitress was friendly but didn't even ask if there was something wrong when we didn't finish our small food. Very put...
