Leo's Pizza, Marion — Restaurant in Marion

This is a place that you would never find unless someone recommended it. It is on a side street off of Main St in Marion, but the reason it obviously is recommended is because it is so good. A friend who is in the restaurant business told us about Leo's as he knows we came from Jersey & can't find decent pizza in the NC/SC area we live in other than driving over an hour to Myrtle Beach. We almost drove by it looking for a bigger building than what we found. It sits on the corner and is an old small drive thru bank. All outside seating which is set up very nice and welcoming including a couple umbrellas, a couple televisions and a large outdoor couch. We were the only ones there upon arrival which made me a little leary but we soon found out our concerns were unwarranted. Our daughter made friends with a local feline while we ordered. I chose Buffalo Chicken Nachos which were excellent. Pizzas ordered were a traditional with fresh mozzarella and basil (The Main) while our daughter ordered a meat type pie and substituted the sausage for pineapple. (The Withalachochee) Soft drinks and I tried a local IPA which was just ok. Our pizzas were perfect. The crust was thin like we were used to and lightly crispy. Our waitress could not have been more perfect and even though we forget to get her name we had a nice chat about her family who own Leo's. I asked if they were from up north as we have never been able to find anyplace that makes the crust thin and crispy like we enjoyed in NJ and Philly our entire lives until we moved south. Overall great place to dine if you want that outdoor atmosphere…we’ve eaten there a few times…great food, but tonight was not so great…arrived at 7:00pm, didn’t get served until 8:40pm…waitress said that our food was in a to-go box and didn’t know who it belonged to…we mentioned to the waitress that people came in and ordered after us received their order before us…waitress told us that they added extra cheese and put it back in the oven which burned the bottom of the pizza…waitress apologized but tried to get us to pay while we were eating…Josh no hard feelings, will come...

Oy my goodness! The cutest little pizza spot in Marion!! We came to Nichols for the day and was told by a friend to check it out on our way back home and it is delicious! Only outside seating but they have heaters. They have only been open for a few months, but I imagine come spring , summer and fall, the outside patio will be packed! When you get out of your car, the smell of pizza is delightful! We ordered the BG Parkway and it was fantastic! I should’ve taken a photo, but before I knew it, we had eaten the whole pizza!!
