I was so excited to try here. I heard so many wonderful things. But tonight I was beyond disappointed. I called my order, I used the menu on the website. It needs updated. It was extremely loud, so my server had issues hearing me. My kids and I arrived early. Sat in the pretty full parking lot. All take out orders are picked up at the bar. So I went with my underaged son, as we walked in. I noticed a lady staring and I thought she may be concerned with him being underage. I walk up and no one says a word. 3 servers and the owner. I said I’m here to pick up our order. Owner replies with a take out. She then says something to the servers about who is going to check us out. The young lady said she was, but hasn’t said a word to us. We were never treated, never asked to give them a moment nothing. She slides over my slip, I look at it. It’s mine so I hand over my card and I’m left hanging. So after a few I bring my hand back and kinda motion towards the owner. The young lady says are you ready? I replied with, I’ve been trying to give you my card. No reply. She cashes us out, then slides it back with a pen. So I sign and did not leave her a tip. My son and I continue to stand and wait. The owner walks back into the kitchen, comes out and says your food is all ready it’s just all over the place. She goes back to folding silverware in napkins. Which is what she was doing when we arrived. Another young lady, kept looking at us, concerned maybe.. feeling bad for us. Idk, my son said he was ready to walk out and I told him I was too. The young lady looked at us again and I smiled. She smiled back. Finally our server goes back to the kitchen to get our food. She hands it to us and says have a good night. My daughter got the brick house chicken bowl. She didn’t finish and has thrown up the chicken tenders. My cheesesteak was ok. I paid extra for mushrooms and onions but could barely taste it. I did pull my sandwich apart looking for them. I clearly stated for my sons burger, lettuce cheese and bacon. He got tomatoes as well. Thank goodness he wasn’t looking when I checked our food. Cause he would not eat it. He currently will not eat it since his bun is half burnt.i personally don’t think the bun is burnt bad. So I don’t how it taste. The crab dip is alright. I forgot to mention we got a side order of mashed potatoes. Very strong with pepper. I found our pickles when I was breaking down the boxes to trash our stuff. Also the sandwiches come with chips, but if you want you can substitute for fries at an extra cost. It’s on the menu and I did skip over it. But a lot of other places will remind you. That one is totally on me. The pickle is hidden...
Read moreWe were there on a Thursday evening. The place was packed. Drove through the parking lot, every space was filled, so you have to back out or turn around cuz there's only one entry/exit. Turning around can be a little difficult in an oversize truck, backing out can be difficult when 2 more cars pull in behind you. We were gonna leave, but noticed the lower grass lot had cars parked there, so we parked there too (still unsure if this is their property or not). After parking there, we walked up the hill, not knowing where to go. If you go left, that door goes to the kitchen, if you go around the patio seating, that door opens right into people eating, if you go in through the door off the street, that's the bar. We turned around and sat at an empty table on the patio. Someone came almost right away to give us menus (which I'm hoping had a ketchup stain & not a blood stain on it). After sitting there for about 10 minutes and no drinks or drink menu or even just waters and seeing a party of four come in after us, order their drinks and get their drinks, that just about did it for us and I don't usually get up and walk out. I'm hoping we'll give them another shot, since their new and all. I do alot of reviews and I read alot of reviews. If I could offer some advice, it would be....if that is overflow parking, put up a sign letting people know....another helpful sign I see alot is "Seat Yourself" or "Please Wait To Be Seated"....laminate the menus where they can be wiped off after each use....and serve those first that sat down first. Will update if we go back.... Went back since the first review and still not impressed, not having what we ordered/missing part of order, food was eaten before rest of order came out and water had a plastic taste. The...
Read moreBeautiful atmosphere, incompetent service, lousy food. I don't mind spending my hard earned money on great food but the food wasn't even close to being good. The bang bang shrimp was soggy, little breaded shrimp smothered with tabasco sauce (bottom of the tier Sysco frozen food) YUCK! I ordered the BBQ sandwich platter and am pretty sure I'll be seeing my dentist after biting down on a piece of bacon that was harder than the plate it was served on. I couldn't finish eating my meal my tooth was throbbing so much. I asked for sweet potatoe fries and was served luke warm, limp regular fries. The BBQ sandwich had very little pork on it and asI stated before, the bacon on it was rock hard. I requested that the onion rings served on it, be served on the side but it was not. Our friend's burger was tasteless and overcooked, he asked for mayo and didn't get the mayo until he was almost finished eating and then was charged a dollar for it! The coleslaw was as tasteless as our friend's burger and his wife's mahi mahi was dry and served over even dryer rice with no sauce of any kind. When I told the server that I thought I cracked my tooth on the bacon that was on the BBQ sandwich she replied by saying "Really? Sorry about that." And walked away. I ended up calling for the manager and requested they take the meal off the bill as well as the dollar charge for the mayonaise. What a complete waste of time and money! My dentist will be happy Monday morning, but me, not so much. I miss the old Rawlinsville inn. It may not have been as pretty but the food was definitely superior to the lackluster, uninspired slop we...
