May 13, 2023 ( Compilation) - Over the years, this is my favorite Sandwich & Soup & Sides location in the Frederick, Maryland area! 😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Not fancy , but they do GOOD FRESH FOOD !
My wife discovered this eating establishment 20 years ago! As a Sales Rep, she would take clients to AKA ( also know as) Frisco’s for lunch. Located in an Industrial Park, it’s not fancy , but the sandwiches & soup are homemade & fresh ! Heck, we purchased platters of sandwiches & sides of potato salads & sides of Exploded Potatoes for our daughter’s bridal shower! Reasonably priced, good food in quantities to fit amount of people for your specific event!
Personally, these folks specialize in SANDWICHES! They make the breads too! Check out the sandwich descriptions, feels like San Francisco:
Haight Ashbury - Turkey breast, Genoa salami, etc.
Baja Sandwich - chicken salad, spicy Ethiopian blend, etc.
Golden Gate - Avocado, hickory smoked Gouda cheese, alfalfa sprouts, etc.
Alcatraz - Avocado, Turkey, sliced tomatoes
Sunnyvale - soft sun roll, roasted red peppers, baked ham
Soup of the Day specials rotate with fresh homemade selections. On this day I ordered the Maryland soup. . . White beans, celery, ham, corn, red peppers! 😃👍🏼 Good, wish it had some crab 🦀?
You walk up, order off their gigantic menu board. I recommend their homemade sides:
Exploded Potatoes Chicken Salad Curry Chicken Salad Pasta Salad Tuna Salad Mac n Cheese Styles of Chili
Besides Sandwiches, you could order BBQ items, Pulled Pork, or Wings! I tried their POKE wings. ( Hawaiian style & Asian mix) I would recommend after they bake their wings, go the extra step, fry for the A+!
After you place your food order, you walk toward several beverage refrigerators. . . Select sodas, ice tea, green tea, fancy non-alcoholic drinks. They do offer a good variety of beers. After you pay, relax at a table and they call you up for your food in 10 to 15 minutes! There’s 7 to 10 tables inside, and outside seating through a side door leading to a patio with lights aglow at night! Remember you’re in an industrial park, so no lake or Mountain View. Overall the food is great, just imagine you’re overlooking San Francisco’s Golden Gate...
Read moreI'm a sandwich lover and have been wanting to try this place for awhile. Location is easy enough to get to with the help Google maps, somewhat off the main road. Decent enough parking, could see it filling up. We came around 2pm on a Monday in winter and the place was very full, let alone on a warm sunny day when people can enjoy their patio space. Definitely a dive bar/hole in the wall type feel - almost like you have to have been there before to be allowed to go. It's a bit hard to navigate and the people are busy working so it's not very appealing to ask them "what do I do". Go to the large box in the middle of the room where people are preparing food, on one side there is a large menu board and when you're ready you can approach them to place your order before moving to the back corner to make payment, get any drinks, etc. The people taking the order weren't friendly or unfriendly, they just took orders and made food and didn't interact in any other way before calling your name when it's ready. The guy at the register was friendly enough tho, asking if we needed anything else and saying thank you for tips. Food was large, fresh and delicious. We got a Fat Boy Italian, Presidio and Fisherman's Warf. Will definitely go back to try some other items and perhaps their catering options and wine store. There are a large selection of craft sodas in great flavors. All in all I definitely recommend this place if you like sandwiches, they put a unique spin on classics making it their own. Prices are high but food is large so it balances out nicely. Dining area was clean and a guy was cleaning tables in between guests. Once you find out what you want and how to get it, focus on eating it and you'll likely love this place. Local business doing their thing and doing it well,...
Read moreFirst I ordered a steak and cheese with onions, mayo, and lettuce. Look at picture. I got a tough piece of meat, a piece of cheese not melted, 3 raw onions, enough lettuce for a salad and no mayo. I guess they think Caesar dressing is mayo. I went to pay 20.+and all I had was a 100.00. the place was pretty crowded and he says I don't have change for 100.00. maybe he couldn't figure out change, or they have policy to not accept large bills. or maybe he was wanting to me to use CC so he could get a tip seeing as it was written in large letters on the pad in front of me. Don't know. Why would I feel the need to tip where I stood at one counter to order them go to another counter to pay. I was waiting at table and was wondering what was taking so long. I walked across the seating area and asked unfriendly cashier if food was coming out. He pointed to another location where my order was sitting on a counter. Don't know how long it was there but the meat was cold. I can't hear good especially in loud surroundings so not sure if they called my order or not. Regardless it was not a good experience. Others must like something on menu as it was pretty crowded. Guess they know the system. Hence why should I tip where I ordered and did everything else including cleaning my table. ...
