Having just moved to the area, I was in search of a solid Chinese take-out spot and I have definitely found it here! I don't know about you but sometimes I just really crave stir-fried Szechuan-style green beans and they will make a whole plate for you here! My boyfriend and I like to try out the "basics" at new places before exploring the rest of the menu, and they have definitely got those down here. He always goes for the General Tso's Chicken first whereas I opt for the Kung Pao Chicken. Both were extremely delicious and I love how many fresh vegetables were mixed into my Kung Pao! Well I guess sometimes we do explore small dishes off the bat because I had read about their Steak and Cheese Eggroll and had to try it! I've had those style eggrolls before at other Chinese restaurants but THIS ONE was AMAZING! Highly recommend getting one for each person you're dining with. I will definitely be ordering from here again and again, as many times as I crave Chinese food while I live here :) Sadly I'm taking one star off because they didn't have the Moo Shu Vegetables I really wanted to order after hearing all about their fresh veg. I'll keep trying though and if it's great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was decent and close to my home. I ordered the House Special Egg Foo Young, the gravy and egg omelette cakes use to come in separate containers. They figured out if they put the gravy in the same plastic Tupperware type container with the Egg Foo Young cakes they can short you one less omelette and charge more, you get 2 instead of 3. The General Tso chicken was lacking flavor in my opinion but was okay. The wife said it was just okay, chicken pieces were large, she mentioned it was better than Hong Kong Express, I agree with her. Edit: Asian star is now not only charging more for the egg rolls and making them smaller, and the filling is almost non existent. I originally thought it was an error but after repeated buys and biting into almost nothing in the middle itās apparently...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery fresh ingredients and home cook taste. My mom taught me how to cook Chinese food Hong Kong style and the chefs here are just as good. They always use fresh veggies and meats. I am always happy with everything I order here. My FAVORITE: Hot and Sour soup; it is a vegetarian style hot and sour soup with clean ingredients made to order. Each soup is freshly made not like some other places when they have a big pot of day old hot and sour who knows what's in it type. The Singapore style Mai Fun with shrimp and chicken is also very good even though a little moist for my tastes but the fresh ingredients wins my tummy over. French fries- it is greasy and crunchy as French fries...
