Carlson's Donuts — Restaurant in Maryland

Really good donuts. As I'm sure the comments already state, you have to get here early because once they run out they close. Very very nice and pleasant staff. They always welcome you with a very warm greeting. Great selection of donuts, and again, very yummy.

Very minor complaints- I'm sure this has been mentioned, but this is CASH ONLY, which is a little annoying, especially given that it's 2022 and you can download a free app and buy a $10 card reader to accept credit card payments. Not sure how anyone is cash only nowadays, and they'd likely make more money if they accepted credit.

Also, I wish someone (maybe a local developer) would invest in the storefront. This is one of the most rundown looking storefronts ever (filthy parking lot, abandoned neighboring stores, etc.), so not the most appealing if you are a first time visitor. Again, the food is great, but given that the other neighboring shops look presentable, it would be nice if a develop could renovate this group of stores. A nice clean building and parking lot would probably boost business even more than it currently is.

I'm from Maryland, but thanks to Uncle Sam I reside in the Midwest. When I come "home", there's 3 priorities: crabs, crabs and Carlson's Donuts!!! You CANNOT find a "bad" donut in this shop! They're famous for their potato donuts, which are PHENOMENAL, but my favorite is their MARSHMALLOW DONUTS!!! The marshmallow donuts DO NOT taste like marshmallows, but their creamy center is vanilla flavored with a consistency resembling marshmallow fluff. They are, simply put, DITheVINE!! So wonderful are these God-like morsels from heaven above, that always put in an order of at least 3-4 DOZEN to fly back to the Midwest! What had occurred as a kindness on my part, disseminating these donuts to a few close friends, has now turned into a REQUIREMENT to bring back goodies!! Lol! Heaven forbid I fly back on a Tuesday, (the only day they're closed!)! They open at 5AM and close at noon, but don't be surprised if they close at 9AM, that means they're sold out! If you're in the area, try it out! Just pray you get there before the Anne Arundel Sheriff's...
