Went here for a special Father's Day lunch today and was totally disgusted with the food and service. Started with two $8 Orange Crushes that had way too much ice in the cups and barely any alcohol in them. 10 minutes after the waitress brought them to us, they might as well have served us a cup of watered down Tang. Appetizer was a $14 order of Hot Buffalo wings. Appetizer was brought out on a plate with one large piece of lettuce on the bottom drizzled with about 2 tablespoons of what was definitely NOT Hot Buffalo Sauce, 6 overcooked, dried out wings on top of the lettuce, 3 warm, wilted pieces of celery and a container of warm Blue Cheese dressing. The 2 entrees were a single broiled crabcake with a Caesar salad and sweet potato fries, the other was the fried shrimp with sweet potato fries and broccoli. The $32.50 crabcake was cold, flavorless, did NOT contain lump crabmeat as advertised and was 90% filler. The sweet potato fries were cold and not cooked thoroughly and the Caesar Salad contained warm, wilted lettuce, salt bombs for croutons and a dollop of one of the worst dressings I have ever tasted. The $21 Fried Shrimp platter which was NOT dredged in a beer batter as advertised, was presented to us overcooked, dried out, cold and impossible to eat. The sweet potato fries were cold and undercooked and broccoli was iced cold. When the waitress finally did decide to ask how everything was, I told her I would like to have the entire Fried Shrimp platter re-fired and to speak to the manager. She said no problem and left the cold, inedible meal in front of us. 15 minutes later, some guy brings out more overcooked shrimp with no fries or broccoli. Manager never did come to our table to hear my displeasure. At this point, we were tired of waiting on the poor service and food and just wanted to leave. In the end, Father's Day meal was ruined and charged $89 for some of the worst food and service I have ever experienced. Management should be ashamed of this and make necessary adjustments so other customers don't get robbed of an enjoyable experience by the water. I will be sure NOT to advise anyone to eat at this...
Read moreFirst...let me say this. I personally have been here twice...and the food is absolutely delicious! This time, the main course again, did not disappoint, and if I were rating only based on that, it would be 5 stars, no doubt. But there were two things that I need to address...one, that to us, is a MAJOR issue, one very minor. First...the minor. After dinner we ordered one piece of cheesecake. We were expecting something entirely different from what came out. We don't know if it was old? Or just made differently? But it wasn't good. Almost a custard more than anything else. No biggie, our server, who was AMAZING, took that off our bill without question. This minor thing did not detract from our experience at all.
The MAJOR issue was regarding smoking. As we walked toward the entrance, there were two men outside the doors, smoking. One on either side actually so it was impossible to walk by and not get blasted by smoke. Then we were seated and there was a constant smell of smoke as every time the door opened for anyone going in or out, it poured into the dining area. I asked about the smokers and our server stated that it doesn't matter what is said, they don't and won't move. She offered to move our table and we did...and while it helped a bit...the smell of smoke continued to be present every time the doors opened.
This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. As a business that has families with young children coming through, I would expect there to be more restrictive smoking policies. While I am not against smoking, it definitely should not be necessary to WALK THROUGH and in BETWEEN people (who may even be staff) smoking RIGHT IN FRONT of the entrance. There has to be a designated smoking area away from the main entrance and dining area.
Without the smoking issue, 5 stars. With...1 star is all I can offer and that is because our server rocked, and the main course...
Read moreI wanted to love this restaurant but after our first and recent experience we will likely not be returning here. We experienced the worst service ever. Their deck by the water was nice and peaceful but if you get Emily be prepared to be extremely patient or run for the hills! It was a day and time when they were moderately busy; we walked in and were seated outside on a 75 degree day right away. After we were seated the initial greet it took a while. Then we were there for over an hour and still hadn't gotten drinks. I ordered soup initially for my son who is 3 and I guess she completely forgot about it and I had to reorder it and it came an hour later (literally, at least an hour). I mean we ordered two drinks, a crab pretzel and a chicken Cesar salad wrap and it took 2.5 hours, there was only three of us, including my toddler. She walked by us so many times and didn't even acknowledge us. We sat right by the door so it was hard not to walk by us and see our bare table. And with a toddler in tote that's extremely difficult. In my opinion, things took too long beyond reason!! I'm pretty forgiving, she said it was her first day. She probably should have just asked someone for help and I'm sure it would be helpful to write orders down on your first day; probably why she never brought us our drinks and soup. It was only for the rescue of another waitress who noticed we had been waiting for an extended period of time (I wish I got her name) but she was our hero for the night and brought us our drinks and soup so I could feed my child! But even after our original server explained it was her first day (around the time we asked for the check) we had to ask for our check twice. Just ridiculous. We also asked to speak to a manager who never came. Guess the manger doesn't really...
