Located in the mini strip mall beside Appleton Market in the old Daddy O's spot. This is close to where I work so I was really exited to see a Mexican Restaurant opening there. Parking was good for us as we were in between lunch and dinner. We were greeted in a friendly way and the service was solid.
I had a lemonade to drink. it was cool and refreshing. Not too sweet not too tart. One of the guys with us had a Marg and said he really enjoyed it.
Chips & Salsa!!! Chips were solid, fresh, and could handle toppings. Salsa was good enough. I liked it a bit more when I used some of the cilantro from my tacos mixed in.
I ordered the Street Corn: Corn on the cob with butter, mayo, cotija cheese, chili powder, and lime. $7.99. This came with 2 pieces of corn, had I known that we would've ordered just 1. This was just alright so I'd prolly skip it next time.
I ordered the Tacos Al Pastor: Corn tortillas, choice of grilled pork or chicken, marinated in pineapple, pastor sauce. Topped with cilantro, onion, and a side of tomatillo sauce. The tortillas had that little crisp to them that I always love. The pork tasted amazing!!!! Crispy from the grill with just all of the flavors you'd expect from a pastor taco. I loved them and they were bigger than street tacos. I didn't enjoy the $16.25 price point. Normally it's $15.25 but I added a side since it comes with either beans or rice. Honestly for the portion is wasn't much worth it. The beans were creamy and delicious. The rice was soft fluffy and outstanding.
Alex (Friar Fajita) posted what he thought earlier. I absolutely love that he chose Friar Fajita hahahaha it just hits me in the laugh button every dang time.
So go out and show them some love! They just opened so I imagine that they'll be changing things until they hit their stride. Check out the lunch specials and menu on their FB page.
Overall score from 1-10........................

I'll def be back and I'm interested to watch it...
Read moreThis place used to be our absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. We have been here MANY times but today will be the last. The food is wonderful, the service is great but the cost is just way too much. We came at 12:00 on a Sunday and left paying nearly $60 including tip for two fajita meals and water.
I’m not sure what changed but the portion was MUCH smaller today. It was $20 for a chicken fajita meal which used to be okay and so much food that I always left with leftovers and today I walked away still feeling hungry. It’s not worth it anymore for it to be $20.
In addition, ANYTHING extra was an up charge. We asked for cheese (which was a pinch) to go with our fajitas and that was $1.79 each, a tiny cup of sour cream was $1.79 and a side of salsa verde was $1.79. Nearly $8 extra for something that should be included with a fajita meal. We weren’t even told about the extra up charge for each thing we asked for.
Truly saddened that it has gotten so expensive because this was a favorite go-to spot that was guaranteed to be a great meal and service. I understand costs of everything is high these days but $60 for two people for a Sunday lunch is just ridiculous and not something anyone should pay. For the amount of food that we got it should have been $30-35 and I would have been giving this...
Read moreOur first time here. My best friend & I went for an early dinner (late lunch.) We both had the dinner sized Fajitas. Mine were steak with shrimp and she got just shrimp. The portions were generous with lots of quality steak & shrimp. Our server was very nice & attentive. The atmosphere had a relaxing fun vibe. I can’t recall if there was any Mexican music playing or not, but that would have been nice. There was a large LCD TV screen with a colorful Island like image on display. I didn’t get an alcohol beverage, but my friend got a peach margarita & she thought it was very good! I did have a few cons: the steak could have been more tender (it didn’t seem marinated or tenderized) and overall the fajitas didn’t have enough seasoning for me. However, my friend absolutely LOVED hers! I was a little disappointed that cheese was an add on. Traditionally fajitas come with cheese and guacamole. Here you pay $1.49 for cheese and I forgot to ask how much it would be to get guacamole as a topping for my entree. In addition, I’m just now realizing I didn’t get lime to squeeze on my fajita (which I love.) That probably wouldn’t have been a problem, but I forgot to ask. I would go back again & try other entrees. The menu looked excellent and the server...
