I normally don’t write a negative review however tonight’s a little different. I was referred to Casa Mia’s by my department head. She uses this establishment to cater our employee Holiday luncheons. She has been mentioning Casa Mia’s to me for a few years now. It’s close to me so on last Monday 8/5/2024 around 8:30 pm was my 1st visit. Our server was very nice and attentive she did a phenomenal job, she even engaged in conversation with my husband and I for about 10 minutes. (I wish I had her name 🤗). However tonight was a little different and unwelcoming here’s why. I ordered rock fish bites, onion rings and a Caesar salad, My husband ordered a seafood quesadilla and buffalo chicken bites. My son ordered chicken quesadillas, a haddock platter and a large pep pizza. All of MY hot foods came out before my salad. Ok… My rock fish bites weren’t completely cooked and were cold and mushy inside. My husband’s buffalo chicken bites were still cold inside. We told the server . She took the food back, but I’m assuming it was an issue because our food wasn’t correctly cooked. The server( waiter 69) stood at the end of the tables whispering to her coworkers, when I happened to look up she kinda looked away but her coworkers where still staring at us…. as if we were wrong for stating that our food wasn’t fully cooked. We’re not consuming undercooked food. I normally wouldn’t have payed them no mind but the stares made us feel uncomfortable and definitely unwelcoming. Afterwords our server didn’t come to our table much to see if we needed anything or to check on us. Anywho those items were taken off of our bill without any issues. The chicken, seafood quesadilla's, onion rings and pizza were delicious. My son’s haddock platter wasn’t completely cooked but he decided he’ll air fry it later on, as it wasn’t his main meal. Idk… Maybe the grease was too hot or high. Whatever it may have been it...
Read moreI have been a customer of this establishment for probably 10 years and there were only a couple of periods were I was less than thrilled with them, but over all hands down most experiences will be 5 stars at Casa Mia's.
They have really good crab cakes, and I mean really really good, like nice seafood restaurant level good. I would not have expected that from a sub shop, but then again, these guys aren't a regular sub shop. They are definitely several steps above that. I think they probably use better ingredients and their own recipes for at least some things as even their pizza definitely tastes like their pizza and not just some generic pizza. I absolutely love their crust on their pizza, as well as the sauce and cheese, but it's the crust that really makes it extra special for me. Their dinner platters are also really good and worth trying as well as their sandwiches and salads. And don't forget dessert, because they carry these cheesecake slices, brownies, chocolate cake, and rice pudding and it is well worth the little bit of extra money and the extra calories.
They went through a short period a while back when we didn't think their food was up to par but it seems to be back to normal now so I didn't want to ding them for some overall uncharacteristic experiences in the past.
Eat in or take out or delivery. Attached liquor store (the guy who usually works there is super nice).and they'll deliver beer etc with your order with proper ID. They also sell some beer and wine to drink if you dine in. No table service. Catering too. When I say that you can eat there I don't mean there are some tables off to the side where you can sit while people are running around right by you. There is an entire section in the back with...
Read moreA year ago my review for Casa Mia's showed 4 stars. And in fact, most of my reviews are pretty good even when places aren't perfect. Usually I can find something good to say and I'm patient when others get annoyed. I live close to the White Marsh location and I work close to the Hereford location. With all that being said, strike three and you're out, Casa Mia. I have not visited Hereford, but I know several people who have and I'm not sure that it's quite up to snuff either. As for the White Marsh location, they have been getting worse over time and I've let it go, chalking it up to Covid and overlooking problems because my wife feels nostalgic about them (our first meal as a married couple was there just before we left on our honeymoon). I'm fine with waiting my turn and if you're busy then things are going to take longer. I understand this, however: 1) don't tell me that my meal will be ready in 1/2 hour then when I get there make me wait another 1/2 hour. 2) don't leave 5 items in a bag on a shelf getting cold for 1/2 hour before you start the 6th item on that order. 3) don't make me wait while several other in-person orders (placed and filled while I was waiting) walk out to have dinner. All of these things happened to me tonight (yep, that's just today). I won't go into the further details of the night or the other two strikes, but does your crab soup really still contain crab? When prices go up and quality goes down, that means that the value is plummeting...which is exactly how I'd describe Casa Mia over the last several months. I'm sure that I'll try it again someday, hoping that you'll improve in the meantime, but for now my money is...
