Fifer's Seafood — Restaurant in Maryland

This is my first time leaving a review ever, but my experience here....It needed to be done. So my husband and I drove an hr and 15mins to come to this place, a good friend recommend it and it had great reviews. Today is my birthday so I went here as a birthday outing, first we are seated...everything is all good the waitress informs us that today is half price on crabs....awesome right....so we order a dozen of jumbo crabs, along with a whole lot from the menu. My husband had pasta, calamari, hush puppies and crab dip. We also had some garlic parmesean wings. So needless to say we didn't finish the crabs...fast forward to paying time ....my husband asks for the bill and a bag for the crabs....so she brings the check...he gives her cash....she asks if he needs the change he says no, keep it. So a few minutes later a guy comes to the table saying I can't let you take home all those crabs for half price....so my husband was confused as to why....the guys says well you only ate 2 of them....apparently the half price was only for dine in....we were not told that...had we been told that we wouldn't have ordered so much food..... he also states not only did you only eat 2...you only left a 4 dollar tip!!!! I SAID EXCUSE ME....WE WEREN'T EVEN FINISHED GIVING THE TIP! I mean think about it and I said this to him...why would we have her bring change back just to give it back to her with what we PLANNED on ADDING to the tip!!!????! I've done it other places...but for them to ASSUME that we weren't gonna tip PROPERLY and then to assume that we were there just to TAKE ADVANTAGE of their half price crabs .....I didn't appreciate that! We traveled far, it is my birthday....and the experience was pretty bad at the end...oh not to mention the original waitress comes over as the guy is talking and slammed the bag on the table and walked away...she also ASSUMED that we weren't gonna tip her properly.....guess what race we are😐. So after he saw we were offended he said you know what take the crabs...at that point I just wanted to get outta there so we didn't take the crabs we tipped her the extra 20 on top of the change that she kept LIKE WE PLANNED ALL ALONG and we Left! There were a few reviews basically saying that there was some funny stuff going on towards African Americans......shame on me for ignoring....will never return...

I ordered for the very first time the other day off line for delivery. I received my order the food was good but we're missing a few items which the person I spoke with made good on the chips but I didn't know at the time I was also missing fries. I just assumed they were in with my fish and I also explained this to whom ever I spoke with and they mentioned my fries were substituted for my broccoli and cheese and I said no it said fish platter with fries and u get two sides and they said no it's fish with two sides and my fries got substituted. I sent what the online menu said. It also happen with the crab cake I got said it came with chips and I could add something else and they no. So with that said what it's saids on the online menu doesn't really mean what it's supposed to that part was disappointing. Maybe take time and redo the on line so there isn't anymore confusion and actually put on there what each item was actually supposed to be. Thank u

UPDATE: Today Fifer's reached out to me and wanted to make my recent situation wit them right. They also mentioned that they are currently having the online website updated and also including what happen with me with their on line ordering website to their team for corrections. I'm extremely grateful they took the time to listen to me and for taking the time to make the necessary changes to fix their online ordering website. Also they were sweet enough to give me a free fish platter dinner which I had the other night and this time I got my fries that were supposed to be included a few days ago. I'm extremely grateful just to be heard and that they are and took steps to make things right. They went above and beyond and not to mention their food from what my aunt and I had gotten was very good. So I'm changing my ratin a two to a five. Thank you Fifer's I look forward to ordering again soon once the website is updated and fixed and thanks again for everything and...

My wife and I came here about a year ago, service was so bad we got up and left. We decided to give it another try, so we came in again, service was slightly better but not good, and honestly the crabcakes and fries I got were really good. So the following weekend we decided to go again, but just order a carry out to avoid the service. BIG mistake. We scheduled an order for 530 pickup, I walk in and the girl sitting behind the counter on her cell phone said "oh they must've forgot to put it in." By "they" she meant SHE didn't put the order in bc she knew the name of the order and all the details without me mentioning any of it to her. Then as I sat there waiting, another female employee kept coming over to her and whispering in her ear, giggling, playing on their phones, and when my order finally came out, she picked up the bag and came over and simply sat it in front of me on the counter, didn't say a word, and walked away. She could've said thanks, sorry for the delay, here's your order sir, not a damn word. Then I get home and notice the crabcakes AND my fries were so undercooked I had to bake them in the oven for 15 mins to make them edible (I would've returned them to the restaurant if I didn't have to get up so early the next morning and remember they were late on the order in the first place). The grilled chicken my wife ordered was fried. It was a total waste of money. And like I said, the week before the food was good. I'm chopping it up to consistent bad service and a roll of the dice for the food they give you. Could be great, could be terrible. And I get its a dive bar located in the dirty Deena and I'm not expecting 5 star service, but I won't permit attitude from employees that I'm paying for a product or a service, nor will I accept a gamble on whether or not I'll get what I'm paying for. There's just too many other places around to go to for me to...
