I'm SO glad we came here for breakfast. The toilet in our hotel flooded at 5:30 am, so we (me and mom were staying in Solomons Island to celebrate her bday) were already up and decided to go to breakfast early. This was the only non-fast food place and it opened at 6am. We hopped in the car and there by 6:15. Heather, our wonderful and gracious server, was a delight so early in the morning. Not only was the service good but the food, coffee and even the water (well water) was SO good. I generally do not like sausage patties but this sausage was A M A Z I N G. I'm serious. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Heather warned us that the potatoes were good. Potatoes are my favorite carb so I didn't trust her. She was right lol. I could eat a whole plate. Also, the coffee was soooooo good. If you like pancakes, skip the place that rhymes with Izop and come here. I'm glad we went early because we were told it was favorite of the locals. I can see why and hope to eat there again before we leave.

We went here with no expectations to try something new. Firstly, the first thing we see is every table but two closed. We sit down and the second thing I see is a MOUND of documents and files on one of the tables. Like it's being used as an office. We waited 30 mins for our food and hear him whisking the eggs in the back and serving a couple that came after us. We're the only ones here. Why are you JUST NOW making food? I felt so bad for the waitress. We asked for a to-go container because I had timing constraints. They don't have containers. They were going to wrap the food in foil. The poor waitress expressed her concerns with doing that to the cook (I think the owner) and he was so rude to her..."if you don't I will!" Is what I heard. So we offered to pay for food we never recieved so we could leave. Surprise! The card machine was down and they weren't taking cards....AVOID THIS PLACE. Waitress if you're reading this, you can do better and deserve better than this!

I used to go here all the time as a child, the menu was much larger. This restaurant’s lunch menu is sad! Very limited options. Water tastes like sulfur. So gross! We waited over 45 mins for our food. While we waited, I watched the waitress pull out our pickles from a jar with no gloves or utensils!!! Just bare hand in the jar and put them on a plate. I also could see the cook from the table I was sitting at (back left corner of the restaurant) wearing no gloves as he prepared our food! The place was empty yet we waited over 45mins. There were spider egg nests above our table as well. I will never go to this place again. Nor would I recommend this place.

I feel like we really dodged a bullet here. My partner and I stopped in on a Friday morning around 8am for breakfast. We wanted to support a local business instead of visiting one of the many chain restaurants. We noticed the place was basically deserted with only 2 vehicles in the parking lot which would normally mean quick service at most places. The first few tables in the place had "Table Closed" signs on them which I'd never seen before. We seated ourselves along the left wall and waited for someone to notice and give us some menus and perhaps take a drink order. During our lengthy wait for service, we took the opportunity to look around us. There were the 2 patrons at the bar, sitting in silence. There was a cook in the kitchen hunched over the griddle. The ketchup on the table had never seen the inside of a refrigerator and judging by it's unusually dark color had been there for quite some time. The atmosphere was dim, bleak, and beyond hope. We had places to be and things to do so decided not to waste any more time there after being completely ignored for 5+ minutes. We eventually found another place for breakfast and went along our days activities.

It was only much later that we read through the other reviews in detail since our experience did not live up to the 4.2 stars given on Google Maps. I'm glad we did not have our day ruined by what would likely have been a complete disaster of a meal and an unbelievable waste of time had we stuck around for any...

I've been to The Frying Pan a few times for breakfast. It's an easy joint for us to hit up for when we are in the area, but I have felt each time that most people could make much better quality food at home for a fraction of the price. They do have crispy scrapple, so that's a plus. The service is also friendly and fast. Still my spinach, mushroom, tomato omelet I had last time had issues. The spinach tasted and looked canned or long-frozen (certainly wasn't fresh) and really ruined something that could have been great. The mushrooms and tomatoes were weak on flavor as well (a 1 minute saute of the mushrooms would bring out significantly more flavor). Home fries are crispy, but seem heavy on the oil. Corned beef hash is canned and kind of gross. I've also had the oatmeal which was the ultra-instant kind lacking in flavor or texture. The bacon is very crispy and tasty so I am glad they got that right. Wish they had more pride in the food they send out... It would be so easy for them to make spectacular omelets! Perhaps it's the lack of local breakfast competition that feeds their complacency.

I really love mom and pop type places, but I think I was just looking for better quality fare. Another note, the saggy drop ceiling is stained and offputting. Kind of takes away from the ambiance which I think would be great otherwise (knotty...

First time tried this place just from having 4 stars on Google. I had family visiting from out of state and wanted to have a nice breakfast with them, but it was a disaster. There were only 2 people working the cook (owner) and 1 waiter. It was not busy there at all. I got an omelette and asked to have the onions, peppers and mushrooms to be sautéed with cheese melted on the top of the omelette. Not too much to ask for. The waiter literally told me no, and the cook won’t do that and will have a fit about it. I was absolutely stunned to hear that from a waiter. I was very disappointed. Who likes to have raw onions in their omelette? Maybe some people do but it’s not for me. The food took over 30 minutes to cook and came out cold. I will definitely not be back that’s for sure and I really doubt this place is going to up and running for long. I know things can get hectic and everybody have bad days but if your restaurant has 5 stars maybe you should have more workers. A couple came in and sat down for brunch, and the waiter told them it will be a 30 minute wait before he can take his order because there was 3 tables of orders the cook was working on. I just can’t believe that happened. More workers are needed and customer service is needed to be taught.

I won’t be back for sure and definitely do not recommend this...
