My boyfriend and I had recently moved to the area, and we found this place. Their food is pretty good. We would order there very very often, gave them lots of business. Lots of our hard earned money. No problems until recently. We ordered a pizza but had an emergency where we couldn’t pick it up. This ONE time. Yes a phone call to this establishment would have been nice, however when emergency’s come up with family…this restaurant would be the last thing on your mind. Or at least it was for me. Say all of that to say, I didn’t call and a week or so later we ordered a pizza paid for it, picked it up no problem. The next night we go to order again but we have points thru their points system to earn a free pizza. When I call the NEXT night, the owner/boss/manager or whatever he is; Johnny, answered and proceeded to question me about the pizza we couldn’t pick up 2 visits ago( mind you nobody said a thing just the night before).. which is fine. I have no issue with that. I proceed to give him an answer and he chastises me like I’m his damn child “oh a phone call would’ve been nice”. As much business as I give this place I was literally taken aback. Cause obviously yes a phone call would’ve been nice but I’m not worried ABOUT YOU or no damn PIZZA when I have things going on in my family. Period. Needless to say, we go and back forth for quite a bit. I then proceed to tell him how I purchased a pizza the night before so I have points totaling more than what’s needed for a free pizza, and he basically denies what I’m saying… arrogantly saying he told me 2 visits ago we didn’t have enough. I tell him yes that was 2 VISITS AGO, I’ve since ordered so where are my points?!! He is trying to make it seem like im making it up or something. BARE IN MIND: you need 250 points we had 249. He then says oh well I’ll just give you a point so you can get your free pizza. ABSOLUTELY TF NOT. I want ALL my points.. anyway I go this place and ask for him.. he proceeds to tell me “oh I had to click this button in MY system so your points could update. Also, you’re always asking about your points balance.. maybe you should write it down.” Are you freaking kidding me JOHNNY! THATS YOUR JOB! He was so rude, disrespectful and has no idea how to treat customers and a very LOYAL repeat customer at that. That place will never get another dime out of me. I hope...
Read moreSince I wrote this review, Hilltop is in the process of redeeming itself, and im soooo happy for that. In all fairness. since the fire, they are really trying to play catch up. I know they can work the kinks out. and get back to the Hilltop we all know and love.... It shows that they are paying attention 😘 So go, enjoy your food. !!!!
Great food, great service, great prices ... yum. SO SORRY I HAVE TO EDIT MY REVIEW... Hilltop has finally reopened after the fire that closed them down for several months.... we waited a long time...anticipating the return of great food and service. The service, mainly the girl at the register, is not very customer oriented...she tends to bark at people, I know they get busy, but u gotta treat your consumer with respect. The cooks however, at least the ones there pre fire are always helpful and nice and should be commended for taking the time to help things go smoothly even when they are super busy. Now on to the food, apparently they changed their French fries, and the new ones are awful, they are soggy and not at all tasty, in fact, they tasted like seafood, which brings me to the point of the fryers, normally and in the past, the fries are cooked in separate fries than the seafood, apparently this is no longer the case. Very disappointing. If I want to taste seafood, I will order seafood. The sub rolls have changed, they are much smaller, so of course the portions are smaller. Also in our case the subs were not made to order, I understand people make mistakes, however... both subs ordered were not correct. And of course they have raised the prices, which I wouldn't mind, if there weren't all these other problems. It makes me sad to have to write this, I have loved Hilltop for years, but I'm not sure how much I am going to eat from there now. Maybe they will fix some of these issues, ...
Read moreI am usually to lazy to write reviews, and frankly, most places don't warrant my time to write one - good or bad! This little place, however, gets a full five stars from me for its salads!! I just stopped by again for the second time with a Groupon ($20 worth for $12), and this is actually a place I WILL go back to without a voucher deal because their salads are SO tasty and SO HUGE!! And really cheap at regular price - The two I got (Greek and Chef) were both priced at $6.85, and I kid you not, they are both two large portions each!! Had half of the Chef Salad yesterday for lunch and the other half today. Still have the entire Greek Salad left as it is just so very much!! Another thing I really appreciate - they give you tons of dressing with it!! Some places give way too little in the way of dressing for someone like me who loves their dressing. Plus, they are home made and very tasty - not those nasty little pre-packaged ones. Their other food is pretty good, too, and I would certainly get that again, too, but I know I will be going back for their salads, for sure! It's just up the road from Marley Station, where I go to the gym, so an easy stop (they don't deliver to my home address). The only thing is....don't think you'll get a very low-calorie meal when you get a salad there, as they are truly loaded (and the dressing alone is probably more calories than one should have in...
