I read many reviews about this place and I was excited to visit. Of particular intrigue to me was the fact that the restaurants menu aligns withnmy dietary and faith practices. I took my aunt here for breakfast after hyping up what I'd heard about this place. We walked in and I explained that we had never been there before and didn't know how things went. I asked the lady at the counter if we should sit and someone would serve us or do we just step up and order?. We were asked to take a menu and then step up to order whenever ready. We took our time to review the menu then stepped to the counter. We stood there and watched as staff passed us without even making any eye contact. NO ONE even acknowledged us standing there simply waiting to order. While we sat reviewing our menu we had looked around and noticed that the staff appeared friendly to others. They even walked across the room to greet people..perhaps those people were regulars who knows. But to us, no one was kind or welcoming. I hate to believe that this experience occurred because we looked different from everyone else in the room. We literally were treated and felt like we didn't exist. We put down our menus and walked out after standing there for about 5 minutes without acknowledgment . I was so embarrassed that I had exposed my aunt who was visiting to this type of service. I will never return to this restaurant. I will never recommend...
Read moreSituated in a superior bakery they offer counter service and plenty of seating for breakfast and lunch. The menu also includes classic or Israeli breakfast specialties including an excellent shakshuka or lox and bagel platter. For lunch they serve freshly made salads, superior home-made soups and sandwiches including wraps and Panini toast in a comfortable, pleasant and friendly Israeli dairy café setting. There is a high value soup and half salad or sandwich special. The key is to get there before 11:50AM or after 12:40PM to reduce line wait time. The fresh quality food is of good value, ordered and paid for at a counter and delivered to your table. Espresso machine gets good use.
A night they transform the place with soft lights and tablecloths into a very pleasant table service bistro with fresh fish, homemade pasta and creative specialty options for a quiet upscale evening meal.
Reservations are encouraged. They are located in a Silver Spring, MD (Kemp Mill) shopping center with plenty of free parking.

Read moreSurprisingly good. When I got into the restaurant, just by looking around, I lowered my view of the place. On first glance it looks like a run of the mill Jewish restaurant. Modestly decorated and slightly degrading. There are tables where ever one can fit, and a simple bar. Nothing to impressive. But once you try the food, it all changes. The flavors and freshness of the foods blow away all those thoughts and give this place a five star. The pizza, the pasta, and the fish all cooked well. My only issue with the place is the service. Although they try really hard to serve everyone, when they are busy they are understaffed. You end up waiting for your food, check, and bill. Still, I...
