Texas Ribs & BBQ — Restaurant in Maryland

Been here a couple times in the last few months. First time it was close to closing. I ordered a full slab of spare ribs, collard greens and mac n cheese. The spare ribs were tough, little to no flavor and possibly overcooked. Just seemed like they just threw a slab in smoker and left them in there all day. Greens were bitter and no flavor. Mac n cheese was okay but nothing to brag about. I just chalked it up to a loss and maybe not come later in the day but cant say this for sure that was the reason. 2nd time, I got half a slab of baby back green beans, and mac n cheese. These were much more tender in comparison. But nothing to brag about, as they were drenched in sauce and took away the meat flavor. The green beans had a good flavor and mac n cheese was about the same.

The benefit here was more of the service as the female servers are kind and courteous to their customers. So they aren't at fault for my review in any way. They keep it from having me give a lower review.

If you want good quality ribs, I would just go to Dale's in indian head, t&j's near laplata or mission bbq in waldorf and not spend nearly $40 in spare ribs here. I'll still go to try other foods, as my mom likes their chicken, so maybe ill give that a chance. But I won't waste my money on the ribs or collard greens until the cook improves on the quality and shows me how they've...

I will begin by saying I have been a fan of this place since they bought Twin Kiss Ice Cream Shop. I have recommended this place to friends. On Friday, Sep 9, 2016 around 5pm, we went here for dinner. I ordered the Chili - it was terrible. I wish I took a pic. It looked and tasted like it was old, from a can or out of refrigerator, then microwaved, because it was extremely hot. I pushed it to the center of the table. The main issue really was the waitress and manager walked past our table many times looked directly at our table but did not stop and ask, "Is everything ok?". I was never asked, would you like something else? Both manager (or owner) and waitress just walked past us. We finished eating and waited for the bill. we probably waited 15 minutes and just stood up to get somebody's attention that worked there. The manager came over and asked if we were waiting on the bill. Yes - we were and we told him how bad the chili was. The waitress finally came over, took the chili bowl, and stated "well someday's its good and someday's it's not". I replied - today it is not good. They took the 5.99 off the bill. Was a shame to get crappy food and service from Texas Ribs, all over a 5.99 bowl of chili should never been served to me that night. I rarely leave reviews and even more rare do I leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. I've driven by this place for almost two years and ha d always been curious to see what the food was like. I ordered the pulled chicken BBQ to take home for dinner. On the way home I figured I would try a couple of bites. Opening the container, I immediately noticed there was no hint whatsoever of any BBQ color...the chicken was all solid white. There was an extremely strong smoke smell...really so strong it smells like fake liquid smoke. Anyway, after trying the BBQ, all I can say is that it very well could not only be the worst BBQ I've ever eaten, but the worst food I've ever eaten. I realize everyone has their own style of making BBQ, but this didn't resemble anything I've ever eaten...not even close.
