The Balcony — Restaurant in Maryland

Cool place but not the greatest experience after 3 visits. Today was very bad. We got there at noon and it wasn’t busy. Only 3 tables including us in the whole place had customers. 8 people total for lunch for all 3 tables. I counted because it took over 55 minutes to get out food (1 app, two sandwiches including a grilled cheese) and I walked in to ask the waitress how long it was going to be. Plus after we got our drinks, we did not see her again until the food came out. She did not check in once. Once the food came, it was between okay and good. Waitress was extremely nice but not sure you can eat there unless you want to wait a while for bar food.

This by far is the finest watering hole on Bedford Road. Having lived in the area for many years this location has changed several times. Yes I still recall the Gingerbread Man next to RGs. Currently we stop in for take out food most times. The fresh cut thick fries are a winner everytime. We also use the saddle bags appetizer frequently for a meal. The steak and cheese is the best. Basically they make egg rolls with steak and cheese in the middle and they add a nice southwest dipping sauce with them. The Buffalo chicken ones our my second favorite. A tip of the hat goes to the steak and cheese subs as well. To recap, the food is really good, and the beer is Cold. It was our first visit here and met up with a musician friend that’s a fan of this place. I was surprised at the wide variety of the menu. Very creative and elevated bar food with nice presentation and flavors. The service was first class and friendly. I did find the parking lot a little dicey. The interior is a little dated,but surfaces were clean. We will certainly come back. I’ve played music in a lot of bars, but didn’t eat at them because a lot of bars don’t have it together in the kitchen.
