I had relatives in town and she hadn't had Maryland crabs in years and I wanted her to experience it at a place other than some paper bag table covers. So I settled upon this location and hadn't been here but a neighbor posted some pictures on social media and I made a mental note to try it sometime because of its proximity to the water. Now I made note to my cousin that it's not crab season for Maryland and that just means smaller sizes and possibly different tastes but I knew of restaurants that still served live crabs regardless. So added name to the wait list we get there that evening and talk about feeling all the eyes turn to look at you at the same time... what are we in 1950's Alabama?? I mean the restaurant can't be directly responsible for ignorant patrons staring at people of a different race like we had 3 heads each but even the hostess unfriendly and stoic with very little words to say to us. When we were seated at my table and I looked at a longer table beside it and I asked if the table you're giving us appropriate for crabs, she says it's not crab season like a robot and starts explaining what crab season meant and I said Oh I'm I'm aware it's not Maryland crab season but are you saying you're not serving live crabs? She responded we're not serving crabs I said Oh that wasn't posted anywhere on your website as it reads information about how you don't pre-cook your crabs but nowhere on your website do you say we only serve live crabs during a specific period of time That would have been helpful information and she just looked at me like I had three heads. No oh I'm sorry Oh I can understand how that would be confusing or frustrating No empathy whatsoever meanwhile everybody's still looking at us we weren't causing a scene this was just a quiet comment to the hostess who stood there and looked at us and offered no empathy. So I proceeded to take out my phone and call one of those places where you just put the paper bag table cloth on the table and you get a bunch of crabs and guess what...they had them and so we all left and as cute as this place looked like it would have been I won't be...

We started off at the bar with super friendly bartenders and great tasting drinks- I got the Sail Away. I off handedly mentioned to my husband that the drink had cilantro, which I don’t like, but thought I could just take it out when I got the drink. The bartender overheard me and offered to take it out while she was making it - great attention to detail - I should have asked her straightforward but I appreciate she offered without me asking!
We took our drinks to the table. We arrived early- around 11:30 so there was plenty of open tables in this early Saturday but as soon as noon rolled around - it was packed! So plan accordingly. They share free parking with the boat dock and there are a lot of spaces but once its busy, you’ll be circling to find a spot.
I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Tacos and it came with a large side salad. The tacos and salad were delicious, as well as the fried pickles for appetizer. I love pickles, and these fried pickles were BODACIOUS good gracious! So if you don’t “LOVE” pickles, don’t do it. But they were soooo good! My friends ordered crab cakes and pulled pork tacos and everyone was very pleased with their food.
The bathrooms are the only part of the restaurant that has AC and my god it was glorious after sitting outside in humid weather that I didn’t have to sit in a swampy bathroom. LOL. Clean and AC - what more could a sweaty-humid-omg I have hot flashes girl want?!
Our server was also fabulously attentive and this was a great experience. I’ll come back in the Fall when Mother Nature isn’t trying to give me pre-menopausal hot flashes from...
Read moreWell it was not a good experience at all! As a business owner I could not believe the way we were treated. We did have a lot of issues with our waitress but we were very patient with her. First we drove 1.5 hours to eat there. We had a 20 minute wait which was not bad. We sat down and you could tell the waitress was new. She could’nt answer some of the question we had. Simple questions like what were their chips? Can I pay extra for a roll as they sell a crab cake sandwich dinner and a 2 crab cake dinner. I wanted the 2 crab cake dinner which didn’t come with a roll. So I wanted to pay extra so I could have a crab cake sandwich. Nope we don’t allow this. So then I ordered a fresh salad with my dinner with French dressings. They bring me some kind of Italian dressing. So I ask the guy that brought out the food if I could get some French dressing and he brought out the same thing. So I figured they just don’t have French dressing and I would take my salad home. So my sister in-law ordered a pineapple crush when we ordered. Twenty five minutes later food comes out and there is still no pineapple drink. Finally we ask where it’s at and the waitress says oh yeah I had to wait for the bar tender to make it. So we are almost done eating and my brother asks for a another coke and it comes out as diet with an aftertaste. So he asks for another soda to replace the diet. And the next thing we know this blonde bimbo manager comes over to our table literally accusing us for cussing at the waitress. As a business owner I would never treat anyone like this. We tried explaining to the manager that nothing like this happened!! And she literally accused us and said she believes her waitress. We were never so embarrassed at a restaurant as we were here. We will never go back as the parking was ridiculous and the food was all fried and the manager...
