We've been a fan of their sister restaurant, The Rumor MEAL, for a long time. We were excited to try Rumor Reel and came on their opening weekend. The decor is amazing! It's centered around a deep-sea fishing theme and very tastefully executed. There is a lot of attention to detail throughout. I encourage you to explore when you visit. They have an ample back deck with shading in the form of sails.
The menu is simple fare: burgers, wings, pizza, and beer, much the same as Rumor Meal. For such a lovely place in a fantastic location, I did expect a broader and slightly more upscale selection like steak and seafood.
Whatever your expectations, the food will not disappoint! I've been three times with a group, and this weekend was the first time I managed to snag a wing. They're that good! I highly recommend the Old Bay wings as well as the honey Thai chili. I've had stromboli twice (loved it!) and the fish and chips. Both were well prepared and delicious. My kids said the burgers were delicious!
Unless you have a boat docked at Pleasure Cove, you're unlikely to stumble across Rumor Reel, but it is...
Read moreSo my gf and I decided to Rumer Reel in Pasadena, MD on 7-5-21. When we got there we were told we needed a reservation but not told that when we called. Then we were told we could be seated.. WOOHOO. We ordered drinks, crushes. She didn't like hers. We then order the sunken crab soup with crab cake and Sherry. It was very thick and the Sherry was either watered down or cooking Sherry, the mini crab cake had lots of filler. Rockfish bites were next, more like tenders but not so bad just more breading then fish. The male owner comes over and ask how everything was, I was honest and told him. Well Mr. Man didn't appreciate my honesty and told us we could leave he'd take care of the bill and rolled his eyes. If he didn't want honest answers don't ask questions and don't ask guest to leave because they give them. Our server was excellent and the woman who I am guessing is the wife of the owner was very nice as well when we answered her questions. Mr. Man owner needs to check his attitude...
Read moreSo I'm close to Rumor Meal & eaten there many times. I love eating out on water though, and saw that they were dog friendly. I was in. 1st time tried regular beer of theirs which was pretty good. Personal pizza of luau. Was pretty good. They were awesome with my pup. She's only 8 months & I'm trying to get her used to all the things. They brought out water, gave her a bone. 2nd time was witb my cousin for my birthday. The crushes were delicious, especially Creamsicle and key lime. However not much alcohol in any of them. I feel like it's overpriced. The crab pretzel was delicious tho. And service was pretty good. Band playing last time, was a good band. Seems like good group of people there. I definitely like the crowd, the energy of the place. Dog friendly! But I like a stronger drink for my money. For a 150$ tab which most was delicious crushes, I feel like I should have felt it more. Extra kudos to our poor waiter who did bring me a single oyster for my bday...
