Trader's Coffee House — Restaurant in Maryland

Trader's holds a special place in our hearts and will forever be a "must visit" location every time we are in Deep Creek. October 2015 was our first time visiting the lake and we instantly fell in love with it. Our family stayed for 4 nights and each and every morning of our stay you could find us at the coffee house, sometimes more than once a day. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is inviting and the food/drink is amazing.

My husband and I got married this past August and knew we wanted Trader's to play a role in our special day. During a venue search in Deep Creek, we stopped at Trader's to get coffee and asked a staff member if they knew of a good cupcake/cake bakery in the area. The manager, Jean, poked her head out and mentioned they were just starting to cater for weddings and we knew we had found the perfect cake maker for us!

Trader's not only provided us with the most amazing cupcakes ever (people still comment on them and how good they were), but they also catered a farewell brunch the morning after our wedding and served as the location for our rehearsal dinner.

We are forever thankful to Trader's for helping make our special day that much more amazing and can't say enough about Brenda and Jean for the amazing...

I stopped here back to back days for breakfast while in Deep Creek for a work trip. It was easy to get to with plenty of parking. A lovely couple outside directed us into the correct door. The entire shop is charming as can be, and every employee we interacted with was extremely courteous. I saw the selection of baked goods change each day, which told me just how innovative their team is. Everything displayed looks so appetizing, my boyfriend and I ended up leaving with a box of 7 pastries to celebrate our last day of the trip. Their coffees, both iced and hot were delicious. Their coffee machine behind the counter is impressive in itself, but you can also taste the quality and care in all their drinks. I’m sure there can be quite a line during the busy season but with only a handful of customers, our order of sandwiches, coffees and pastries were out in 5 minutes.

Lastly, but not least—the employee who filled our order on the first day was also working the second day and greeted us with the biggest smile and the most cheerful “Welcome back!” I will absolutely be back here when I come back...

Coffee and croissant were great, some of the better coffee i’ve had. Had a wonderful cashier that was super helpful with my online order.

Unfortunately not all the staff were as amazing. When the cashier asked another employee about my order, she was a bit rude in my opinion, but I didn’t pay much attention at that moment.

After my drinks came out I asked about my croissant. I mistakenly asked the rude employee for the food. Gave me a pretty hefty eye roll and a short annoyed response with a gesture, as if I should know exactly where they put the food. I forgot to bring my XRAY vision to see through the group of 10 people standing in front of it (my bad).

I’m from out of town, I don’t know the shop. I probably wont be back despite driving up here a few times a year from here on forward. If you plan to go here, because the coffee is amazing; I recommend not ordering online. If you do order online, the pickup shelf is in the corner of the store at waist level. Anyone above the height of 4”10 will probably block...
