I initially gave them two stars, but I have lowered it to one. This experience was a failure on a couple of levels. It started with their ordering system. I had never ordered through them online and their webpage offered a $5 off coupon code for a first-time online or carside-to-go order. I went through the process of ordering and got to checkout and the system refused to accept the code. Kept giving me "invalid code" message. I tried it both "pick up inside" and "curbside" but it wouldn't accept it.
I placed the order for inside pickup and called the restaurant directly to let them the know the code would not apply. The very polite young man's response. "Well, so sorry. There's nothing we can do here to help with that. That has more to do with the website than with us here at the restaurant." So, we lost the $5 off coupon offered on the site. We won't be using the site again. It failed a sceond time when I tried to use their "contact us" form to send notice of the problem to Applebees Corp. After going through the lengthy process of filling out the form and typing a short description of the problem and hitting "submit" I got another error message that said the form couldn't be submitted. I tried it a second time and just got a bunch of lines of error messages. THEY NEED TO FIX THEIR ONLINE WEBPAGE AND TEST IT TO MAKE SURE IT ACTUALLY WORKS IF THEY WANT PEOPLE TO UTILIZE IT. Will be back to edit this review if the order isn't right when it gets here.
EDIT: No lettuce or tomato on my burger, even though I did NOT opt out on those on the order site. There were four little 1/8" fragments of what looked like bacon. I didn't order bacon for it, because I don't like bacon on my burger If I had pieced those fragments back together they might have made a whole slice. We had two garden salads, green beans, and whipped sweet potatoes on one of the orders, but unfortunately no utensils to eat them with, nor any napkins to wipe our hands on had we decided to treat them like finger food. They did get the right dressings added to the order, so I guess that's something. There was no ketchup, mustard, or mayo packets included to add to my burger, nor were they offered at the time the order was picked up.

Read moreSooo trying to be as nice as possible, I generally shrug off bad service as the place being busy........Oct 11 just after noon we swung into this location, which weve done numerous times as its convenient and generally fast in and out.......got sat fairly quick as the restaurant was by no means packed......server who was male took our orders along with queso and chips, generally served before the main course......sat a while chatting watching said server waiting on other patrons, not a problem, more time goes by, questioning the chip situation as there are 4-5 employees hovering around the bar, many minutes later the queso delivered 2 to 3 minutes to one main course being served.......my wife starts eating her food, im patiently watching our server go in and out of the kitchen, no more plates headed our direction, 3/4 of the way thru her eating chicken breast and mashed potatoes still no food........patience is running thin, weve literally never been served one plate at a time.......no server.........I approached the bar where the manager and a few other employees were standing and expressed we were in a bit of a time crunch and need the second plate of freaking food or just keep the damned thing since my wife was was literally finished with hers, the manager apologized and finished out the service for us, made the last plate and sent it in a to go box also removing the said late food from the bill......my issue is no one's perfect, I get it, the issue was the non schalant attitude of the server the whole freaking time we were there, chips served a minute before the one main course and never receiving the second plate until I literally walked up there to question where my food was........please don't complain when servers dont get a tip at all.......we are generous tippers and travel alot thus eat out alot, this by far did not require a tip at all, its called a "service" industry for a reason, our not ever going back to this restaurant will not by any means affect this particular chain restaurant, however, ya gotta do better especially in a town the size of maryville Missouri where most people know each other ........our server would probly be best not dealing with the public in a restaurant setting, and mind you they were not swamped...
Read moreOur waiter (Kyle) took our drink order. When he returned he took our food order. When our food was delivered to our table, he asked if we needing anything else. We did not. My husband ordered the four cheese mac and cheese. The pasta was dry and the sauce that was supposed to be on the chicken was just slopped onto part of the chicken. I ordered the chicken tender platter. My French fries and chicken tenders were cold. Our waiter came by only one other time and that was to deliver the check. He never came by to ask how the food was or to check if we needed refills. When he delivered the check it was as he was rushing by. Never asked if we needed boxes or dessert or anything else...and the restaurant wasn't very busy, so there was no reason for him to not be attentive to our table. My husband had to go to the hostess to ask to speak to a manager. The manager asked him why he didn't complain about the food when we got it. He told her that our waiter never returned to check on us. At this time, our waiter walked by my husband and the manager and flipped my husband off behind his manager's back and went into the kitchen. My husband told the manager what he had just done and she did nothing. She was not at all concerned that we had terrible service or that our food was dry and cold. She told my husband there was nothing she could do. My husband paid the bill and asked for to go boxes so we could take our food home with us. She refused to give him boxes.
