Absolutely incredible experience. From the winding gravel road to the quaint cottage. The property alone was worth the visit just for the history and shop. The herb shop was so tempting. We nearly got out of there with any money left.
My wife and I were due for a nice 5 year anniversary lunch/dinner and came across this place by recommendation of a friend on Instagram. After spending a few days salivating over their posts and TikToks we booked our reservation a few months in advance as we were so intrigued by the October menu. Having never been here before it was such a pleasant surprise.
Seating happens all at once so we explored the property a bit after the hostess let us know they will ring a bell when it’s time. Once it was ready we were seated quickly and efficiently. The service was IMPECCABLE before we had time to even worry about the next dish is was in front of us with a smile. It was so perfectly timed I will have such a hard time not holding others to the same standard. It was quick, perfect temperature and delicious.
Speaking of delicious. I’m actually an incredibly picky eater, normally I wouldn’t eat much of a menu for places like this. But I’m always willing to at least give it a go. And I’m so glad I did. I’m not often a fan of soup and the broccoli cheddar made me a changed man. It was so perfectly seasoned and balanced I couldn’t help but consume the whole dish in record time. Then came the salad, a gorgeous Mediterranean with just the right amount of each ingredient and dressing. One olive still had some pit in it and that gave me a slight scare but it was mostly on me for not checking. Then the bread, so absolutely warm and well seasoned. Then the main dish, Boeuf Bourguignon with garlic whipped potatoes. So well cooked, tender and complimentary of everything in the dish. The scoop of potatoes was to die for. Then the desert, oh my lord the desert, Apple and Cape Cod cranberry crisp with a spoonful of maple walnut icecream. The flavors were so well matched. It was the perfect finale.
We spent the whole experience just in awe of how delicious everything was, how gorgeous the property was, and how well thought out every element of the meal was. You could tell there was real passion...
Read moreAt the time I was hungry and found place on the ap, so I followed the directions to the place, up the side of a mountain it seamed. Just when I thought I was there, cross the town line and the Road turned into dirt. Not a bad Road but all the roads are dirt leading to the top even the ones that are closed off. So I made it there to find out the parking lot was packed full, not very large. I thought I was in good luck, a lot of people eating good food, but No. After finding the hidden entrance door I found that they only do Seatings for a 5 course meal and l was late by an hour. Last one is at 2 PM. So I vacated the place and went back out into the pouring rain, it was coming down in bucket loads, I got drenched on my back by the time I made it back to my wheels. When leaving I was informed that thier Earb store was still open and the museum also. The place was set into the top of an overgrown villa setting, converted from a house and out buildings. When leaving I thought If I didn't have bad luck I would not have any luck at all. Guess I should read reviews before galavanting of to some where, my fault me bad. So I ended up leaving still hungry. Driving down the dirt roads wasn't bad, they were well maintained, even though they were soaked. The receptionist was very pleasant explaining their process even though she was on the phone when I entered and made me wait for a few minutes. It is also highly recommended to make reservations before hand, if you want to have an upper class meal when going out. Seams that's the only way they do it there. I would have checked out the museum and store before leaving, but I was famished and starving by now out in the middle of nowhere town and wanted some good food to eat and it was pouring rain at the time.

Probably would have been a good meal and a nice experience to have. I doubt that I will go back. I followed my Navigation to find them, recommended.
Check out the photos with the captions. I will point out the hidden entrance door.

Read morePickity Place is more than a restaurant with AMAZING food - it's really an experience. It's a lovely drive (although I admit, I am not great at driving in snow/ice (yeah, yeah, I know, I need to get with it, living in New England and all), so my good friend and I are taking a break until better weather). The gift shop, green house, and grounds are quaint, vintage-y, and just invite you to sit in one of the many alluring garden spaces with a good book before AND after your sure-to-be-savored meal. You might even get lucky to have one of the cats hang out with you while you relax.
The dining experience is wonderful - absolutely delicious, creative food, served at a wonderful pace, and in reasonable portions (Goldilocks portions - not too small, not too large, but just right). The beverages are refreshing (I'm crazy about the lavender lemonade), and you just feel as if you're an honored guest.
The beautiful gift shop is a delight - so many wonderful, fun, and tasty treats (they offer wonderful spices and spice blends - must-haves for anyone who loves to cook or bake with quality ingredients).
This is a beautiful space with just lovely, warm, welcoming staff (shout-out to Amanda, who's fantastic at taking care of diners). In the age of Covid-19, social distancing, masks, and scrupulously clean surfaces stand out and help you relax, knowing that you're in a safe space where you can enjoy your outing.
One thing that makes me sad - their gorgeous, old, beautiful tree in the front of the house didn't survive a recent storm, but the creative owners have some fun plans to honor the tree and make the remaining portion really beautiful.
So, bottom line? Come here - bring your spouse, your kids, your favorite friends, even your cranky relative who's jaded would be totally charmed by a lovely...
