143 Market — Restaurant in Mattapoisett

My daughter and I have been wanting to try a sandwich from here, so we went in on a Sunday about 5 minutes before 3pm. Website said they close at 4. We stood at the counter deciding what we wanted, there were 2 girls standing around. Another girl/lady came from the back after a couple of minutes and told us the kitchen closed at 3. It was literally 3 and we weren’t going to order something that needed to be cooked. It doesn’t say anything on their website about closing at 3. The place was empty, so having worked in this type of environment myself, you close down early if it’s dead, but never turn away a first time customer, or any customer for that matter. Customer service means everything to me, and probably a lot of people. This was bad business. She could have said we can’t make anything hot for you, but make a sandwich because the meat market/sliced meats was so open. I definitely won’t go back in. I’m curious if the owners know they turn people away an hour early. Looks like a decent place, but the customer service was bad. Friends in Rochester has the best food, and impeccable customer service. I’ll stick with them, and be happy. I’d advise anyone coming here for a deli sandwich, call first. Catering good, service poor. Ordered catering for Father's day and it was good, not amazing, but good that we'd try them again. But the service was not good, very rude woman literally was so rude to me. I had specifically asked if they take AMX credit cards when I ordered the week prior, when I went to pick up my order the kid told me cash or check only. I typically only carry $100 in cash on me so I was in a mild panic that I wouldn't have enough money and I don't carry my check book. I called in an order this morning and the girl on the phone was extremely rude. When I got my order home, here are all the things that were wrong: Nothing on the steak and cheese except shredded steak. I ordered it with EVERYTHING and got NOTHING. Not any cheese. Ordered 15 breakfast sausage links, GOT NONE. Ordered their house brown sugar ham. Got boiled ham. Ordered 8 slices of swiss cheese and got and was charged for 3/4 of a pound.
