Not impressed. I've gone three times now, I figured I should give a few chances before reviewing just to be fair. They take far too long to seat you even when it's not terribly busy. You get one napkin, which comes with your silverware. I used to wait tables so I like to put all food on the top plate, separate the trash from the dishes and move it all to the edge of the table so they don't have to reach, and leave the table as clean as I can. It's not easy with one very small napkin. We tipped well every time, $10-15 for two diners. Even though service is sub par at best. You have to ask for refills on chips, drinks, etc. Or they look right at your table and pass you. We even have to ask for the check and to go boxes every time. They're not friendly or unfriendly. The food comes however they choose to make it that day regardless of what the menu says. Example, menu said my food came with sour cream and lettuce, I asked for no sour cream. I got lettuce and pico. I'd already asked if a few items had pico on them because I don't like cilantro. I specifically choose a meal without pico for that reason. We got a mixed drink. It was okay. I usually never drink. If you'd prefer a strong drink, I'd go elsewhere. They also didn't offer water or a second mixed drink after our glasses sat empty for half of our meal. This day it wasn't busy at all, it was raining so patio was closed. I saw maybe 2-3 customers sat during our entire meal. That's just bad business. A Saturday afternoon and two diners order alcoholic beverages, offering (responsibly) at least another one or two more drinks is a good way to make more money. They did card us, so that's good. It's just not a place I leave feeling satisfied, or that I walk out saying, "Man, that was a great meal!" Tbh, Donl Sol is the place to go if you want good...
Read moreI have to say that I was barely aware of Tacos Amigos as it is rather nondescript if you're passing by it on the street. Glad that I was advised to check it out. The chips and salsa were very good. Fresh, crispy chips and bright, flavorful salsa.
The menu is similar to other offerings in the area, but Tacos Amigos excels at the execution. Food is delivered fast and it tastes good. I had the Chori Pollo which is my benchmark dish for the myriad of Mexican restaurants in the area. I thought it was a winner overall but a bit on the salty side.
The restaurant itself is laid out a bit weird with two distinct sections. Overall atmosphere is on par with everything else in the area.
The service is what makes this particular restaurant stand out. My glass was always full and chips were constantly replenished.

Read moreThis place made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable as soon as my family was seated they kept walking back and forth (mind you it was only my husband and I with our 2 toddlers back there) and the entire restaurant keep walking back and forth pass us the entire time until we left (we are a brown skin family so I definitely felt discriminated as if we were going to steal some nasty tacos & the water tastes like faucet water ewww ) I damn near wanted to order TO GO! Also there tacos aren’t good at all flavorless and just unauthentic. However it was ONE server who was really a sweetheart and we tipped him but other then that i will never come back. If you are black and looking for delicious authentic tacos and authentic Mexican service you might as well cross this place...
