What a bummer! Me and my old college besties met in the middle location for a much needed girls weekend. We looked for fun things to do and saw that they have Thursday open mic nights. Two of us had Oklahoma ID’s and one has an Mississippi ID. Unfortunately, owner of the bar doesn’t know the difference between a drivers license and a “real ID”. We haven’t upgraded to the “real ID” (which is just a “federally accepted form of identification” AKA, is used synonymously with a passport and it is NOT a required form of identification yet). Because our drivers licenses said “not meant for REAL ID purposes” and he assumed they were fake, he wouldn’t let us stay. We are 26, 26, & 24.

I get that he is just trying to protect himself and his business, I really do! So I laugh a lot about this. But again, what a bummer for us. Ruined our plans. He needs to learn the difference between a driver’s license & “real ID”, and, how to tell if a drivers license is fake. He assumed they were fake but I’ve never had that happen. I don’t know how to convince someone, who has already decided what they want to believe, of the truth. And maybe learn what some surrounding state ID’s look like 🤣 10/10 do not recommend driving an additional 30 minutes out of your way to get thrown out for the owner being ignorant. After sitting down at this bar the owner asked us to leave because my friends have ID’s that are not approved forms of identification for: flying domestically. Not all driver licenses are acceptable forms of identification when flying domestically. Due to a new act coming in 2025, people that fly domestically will need to be “REAL ID” compliant. People that don’t fly domestically do not need to pay for the upgraded drivers license. I fly domestically frequently enough that I bought the upgrade for my drivers license, but my friends did not do that. For the owners sake, it would be smart to read up on the difference between an ID card that is acceptable to use as a passport for domestic flights versus an ID card that is only for driving. Note: a drivers license that can be used as identification for flying domestically is a “REAL ID” compliant ID. If a license says that it is not for “REAL ID” purposes, that does not mean that the license is fake. It only means that that person cannot use it as a passport.

The bar had a “homey” atmosphere. I had never been there, but I could tell that the people who frequent there were probably like family with the owner and staff. I was sorely disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy the live music and food due to a lack of awareness of drivers...

It is EXACTLY what you want from a real life , neon, juke box , shuffle board , pool table , dark, INCREDIBLY SMOKEY bar. However, the burger and fries were very good. The bar maid was hot ! The people are wonderful country folk. I can't say a bad word about it. The tremendous amount of cigarette smoke smell is just what I expected, so no whining . The prices are crazy low.
