Esterly's Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Maxatawny Township

I've heard about how good Esterley's is since moving up to the area. I finally had lunch with my new friends here. I was surprised how many of us had never eaten here. We drive by often but never have time to stop. The cheesesteaks which they are known for are stuffed full of meat and cheese. And yes it is really good. I took my own salad and ranch just in case they only serve iceberg lettuce which is what they have. I requested the meat separate from the roll because I love a good cheesesteak salad. They delivered a soup bowl FULL of meat and cheese. It was delicious. I ordered a large. They bagged the roll separately which I appreciated. It was good to. Thank you!!! I tried the French fries knowing I would only eat a few and then reheat the rest in my air fryer later. We do get a lot of them. They were so good I ate a lot more than I normally would. It was very nice of them to let us all order together and then separate out the bills to pay at pickup 10 minutes later. My friends really liked the onion rings, fried mushrooms, and burgers. My husband was very surprised at how much meat and cheese was in the large cheesesteak i took home for him to eat later. I checked and the hamburger BBQ aka sloppy joes does NOT have peppers in it!!! Great food call in ahead or order there outside picnic table seating. No bathrooms in case you thought. Like there food thay don't deliver you pick up your food. And to,me its not a problem. So you can not go rong at this place. Try it you deside. Want to add on here. You can know the food is fresh here. A long time ago I had a cheese steak at a other place in Kutztown I had there cheese steak and like I said only one time it's omost like esterleys cheese steaks but not100 precent the same. Trust me you can taste fresh from old or how it's put together. So far esterleys is top 10 on the list. This does not include Italian pizza shops. I separate the 2 places. Esterly's Mertztown, PA. 3rd generation cheesesteak makers. These cheesesteaks have been around the world. I love this area. This is a converted house. I am 90% certain that the grill room use to be someone's bedroom. It is the ‘no grease’ cheesesteak. The 'no grease' makes it a great traveling cheesesteak. $5.90, yes $5.90. At $5.90, if you live in this area you are wasting money if you don't eat here every night. It had the Pennsylvania Dutch soft roll. That is a very good change-of-pace roll. Sneaky good amount of meat for $5.90. Very good amount of cheese and very good cheese melt. With ‘no grease’ you can really taste the meat and the cheese.
