Waking up in Maysville, there werenât a lot of espresso options, but we like to try different non-chain places while weâre on vacation, and this one got really good reviews. Itâs in a historic building on a street of historic buildings, so it was a little hard to find initially, and also not much in the way of street parking (luckily, a local told us where the cafĂ© was and gave us his parking spot as he was leaving). The place is very well done, with nice dĂ©cor matching the theme of the historic building. We also liked the pastries on display on the counter. We really liked the scone; a good balance of crumble and moist with a hint of subtle sweetness. The cinnamon roll had great flavor, but was a little tiny bit on the dense side. Unfortunately, the vanilla lattes werenât great. Even with extra espresso shots added, the coffee was weak and tasted more like drip than espresso (probably due to beans not being ground fine enough). Iâm still giving it a 5 star rating, because the coffee was good enough, the pastries were excellent, and our experience there...

(Just found them on Facebook the other day and as a Facebook lackey I may be reformed!) Hands down the best thing Iâve eaten in Maysville in the four years since we relocated here. The refined flavor profiles were thoughtfully planed with locally sourced ingredients. We got the Sorry not Sorry Mushroom, Three little pigs, and a Supreme- I guarantee there will be fights for what is leftover (which isnât much because itâs just that good). And donât tell the kids, because you wonât want to share, but the buttery, chocolate chip cookies with flake salt on top could seriously solve any bad moodâŠmaybe you should share with the kids, the neighbors, and coworkers-get several dozen and make everyoneâs week! Canât wait to go back and see what other delicious...
Read moreMy husband and I were traveling through the area and decided to make a stop for a late breakfast. LilJumbo had good reviews so we landed there. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful the building was. As we walked in, I could hear the music playing (which is a fantastic mix) and could see the small line formed. All of the different artwork on the wall was the best. I had a Chai Latte and biscuit and gravy and my husband had some juice and a sausage/egg biscuit, and we shared a cinnamon roll. Everything was delicious, perfectly hot, and fresh. Something I noticed that was so interesting to me was the age differences. All ages were there enjoying the unique art, great music, and familiar faces. Sometimes particular styles seem to attract different age groups but this wasn't it. People just seemed to know each other, and even remembered previous orders of customers. It was just comfortable....
