Yeti review Yeti Backcountry Pizza and Tap House
Out in the middle of nowhere, you will find a one-of-a-kind eatery. In business since January, this “secret”establishment is about 5 miles past the turn off to Burgdorf Hot Springs. It’s just off the Secesh River.
The number of beer and ciders they have on tap would be impressive even in downtown McCall thirty-five miles away.
We soaked for a few hours in Burgdorf, one of our favorite spots, and then noticed a flyer for the Yeti and decided to splurge on a dinner out instead of cooking on the camp stove at our campsite. Well done, Burgdorf for supporting another small business :)
This place we found is an absolute gem!! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by Lonnie, the owner. We chose to sit outside on the porch with the view of a beautiful meadow —even saw a deer while eating our lunch—which Lonnie shared with us and invited us back later in the evening to come see the elk herd.
To start, my husband and I chose some dirty sodas, which were both delightfully refreshing! I had the Yeti’s Crush, which included Dr. Pepper, strawberry puree, vanilla, and coconut cream. It tasted like a liquid dessert!!! My husband had a Yeti Grape Crush which mixed grape and strawberry together, which was also delicious.
Lunch was so hard to choose, so we ended up ordering three sandwiches and brought the fancy grilled cheese (I cannot remember the name of this one, but it has garlic—need I say more?) sandwich home.
My husband had a meat sandwich that had all sorts of meat, red sauce, and onions.
My sandwich…macaroni and cheese with bacon and jalapeños. What?! It was THE best sandwich ever. The cheese was delish, the pasta was just right, the bacon crispy, and the jalapenos were perfectly portioned.
These sandwiches are oven baked. The bread is perfect—crispy on the outside and fluffy warm on the inside. They come with a bag of chips and a crunchy pickle spear.
The price was right—two BIG (32 ounces) dirty sodas and three oven baked sandwiches for $52. The view was priceless and the service from both the owner and the chef was phenomenal.
Oh, did I mention…this is an off grid restaurant? It’s super clean, well adorned (looks like a fancy sports bar with lots of tvs) both inside and out, and truly a remarkable find. We will most...
