Pat Reeder's Tavern — Restaurant in McHenry Township

For the past 20 years or so, I have been making my annual trek to Cherry Springs State Park/Coudersport. I drive past Pat Reeder's every single time but I have never stopped by. This year I finally decided to stop by and now that I did, I regret that I never stopped here to begin with.

This place is an absolute gem and might very well be one of central Pennsylvania's best kept secrets. It's small, relatively tucked away and quiet. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The wings are amazing (go for the hot Buffalo)! I would be remiss if I didn't extend a final thanks to the gentleman (9/7/2024) who allowed me to have one of his wings that got me hooked.

I wish Pat's was much closer, but that's part of the lure of the place. I'll look forward to going there from here on out. Very cozy, quiet, tucked away, great atmosphere and great food. This place has been in operation for over 100 years for a reason.

This is a hidden gem atop Hyner Mountain on PA route 44. The bar tenders/servers are pleasant and attentive to your needs which adds to the charm of the place. The food is fabulous! So far I have tried their cheesesteak, ham cosmo and chicken wings, all were fabulous to say the least. In a conversation with the bar tenders i discovered the place has been in business for over 100 years with just 3 different owners. I docked Pat Reeders 1 star only because on the weekends I was there they quickly became so busy, try as they might, they just couldnt keep up.
