Wagon Wheel Bar — Restaurant in McHenry Township

It’s a cool dive. I could sit there all day if I never had to be around the owner who is in the running for one of the worst humans I have even met. She will declare (endlessly) she is a straight shooter that just tells it how it is. But redirect that energy back at her and see what happens. We have tried for years to go to this bar. It’s a true dive which we like, in a beautiful area. What makes this bar SO uninviting is Yvonne, the owner and bartender. She seems to go out of her way to make you feel unwelcome. The truth is she really does not seem to care. She is rude and just miserable to be around. Almost everyone I speak to in the area feels the same way. I don’t know why she does not welcome returning and good tipping customers! She just doesn’t care I suppose. The sign claims they have the best fries in the Pine Creek Valley but in reality they might be the best in the world. Yvonne is the best bartender around, very attentive and funny. Was in town this past weekend hiking the trails and fishing the creek and The Wagon Wheel made my trip even greater. Also, a nice guy named John picked up the tab for my entire family !!!
